MASSIVE Temper Tantrum over Canada Summer Jobs

OK, it was to be expected that Fetus Freaks would freak out over having their funding threatened, but not even long-time observers (ahem) of their hilarious hyperbole saw this banshee-like SHRIEEK-fest coming.

Here are just a few of the terms used to characterize the very modest change to Canada Summer Jobs program eligibility (insert mandatory exclamation marks after each entry!!!!!):

"thought/belief control"
"ideological coercion"
"tyrannical"
"loyalty oath"
"ideological purity test"
"witch hunt" (I always love this one applied to xians)
"freedom under threat"
"totalitarianism"

And that's not even getting into the comments on their reality-impaired sites, where "Satan" figures prominently.

LifeShite broke the story on December 14, after a leak by über-anti-choice MP Brad Trost.

Global News also reported on it here with an update on December 19 when the program officially launched for 2018.

Back in September last year, we reported on some early findings by volunteer researchers at Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada (ARCC).

Many anti-choice organizations, like Fake Clinics, have been granted charitable status and as such are required to file annual, public financial reports to Canada Revenue Agency.

ARCC volunteers took a peek at these filings and found that Fake Clinics were listing revenue from "Government." Well, this revelation begged for further research, didn't it?

After some more nosing around, a major source was pinned down -- the federal Canada Summer Jobs program.

A ton more work later, ARCC issued a media release.

When iPolitics found a Liberal (!) MP who had approved a sizeable grant to the loathsome Fetal Gore Gang, well, the shit hit the fan.

Then, the CPC nominee for Status of Women Committee, anti-choice Rachael Harder, was discovered to have also approved grants to Fake Clinics. More shit, more fans.

Then the "feminist" government announced that it would no longer allow federal funding to go to anti-choice groups.

There was some screeching at the time, but when the program was set to launch, Trost released the details. There is now a requirement that the recipients of tax-payers' dough respect the laws and Charter of Canada

To be eligible, the job must respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Charter) as well as other rights. These include reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.
Onerous, eh?

Or, as Michael Coren writing at iPolitics says:
What the government is suggesting is that it’s absurd for the public to directly fund and support groups that oppose the laws followed and the values held by the vast majority of Canadians. A very modest, very Canadian idea indeed.

Modest, Mr Coren? This is the END, the END, I tell you of civilization in Canada.

There have been 13 stories (so far) at LieShite about this, including one from the spokesthingy for the obnoxious Fetal Gore Gang.

LieShite is running a petition and a postcard campaign. Campaign Lie is also running a petition.

It seems all of these groups have a direct interest in this. Look at these numbers.

In addition to the 13 stories, there is this quick backgrounder on Justin Trudeau's tyrannical acts towards xians.
This news is only Trudeau’s latest attack on people of faith. The prime minister who so admires China for its “basic dictatorship” began his mandate with a mission to transform Canadian society into his libertine, anti-life image, and he has pursued this agenda with utter resolve.

I've got more to say about this, but I'm going to end for now with this eminently sensible comment on the Coren piece by Celia Posyniak.
It’s high time that government funding of anti-choice “pregnancy care” centres and extremist groups such as the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform (CCBR) [Fetal Gore Gang] ended. The so-called “pregnancy care” centres disseminate misleading information on abortion, use scare tactics to talk women into continuing pregnancies and then encourage adoption. They promote themselves through misleading advertising that hides who they are (evangelicals) and their true purpose – to convert clients to Christianity and “save” their babies. They are not interested in women who wish to continue their pregnancies and need support. They are only targeting what they call “abortion-minded” women. For this they are granted charitable status, which is bad enough. Granting them taxpayer money for an operation that at best can be described as disingenuous and is often harmful to women by delaying health care is ridiculous. So kudos to the Liberals for ending this sham.

As for the CCBR – their anti-social extremist behaviour should not be rewarded with taxpayer funds. They do not have charitable status and are in fact a political group seeking to undermine fundamental human rights. If you are going to fund them, you might as well fund alt right groups. Or if you think that’s too extreme a comparison, funding the CCBR is like funding anti-vaxxer groups that also work against public health and safety. Would Canadians be happy to see their money frittered away on that cause?

Let these anti-choice groups function on their own. If they can garner enough public support and convince Canadians of their position, then so be it. The government never gave groups like the Canadian Abortion Rights Action League money to promote the repeal of abortion laws. CARAL was successful through grass roots support and without charitable status.

MASSIVE WIN FOR PRO-CHOICE

Based on research done by volunteers* for Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, one media outlet reported on a federal Canada Summer Jobs grant of over $56,000 going to the Fetal Gore Gang last year.

While literally hundreds of anti-choice outfits are milking this program, what made this news was the size and the MP. MPs apparently have a great deal of say on what gets funded in their ridings.

And this one was facilitated by Liberal MP Iqra Khalid.

Wait. Liberal? Member of the so-called feminist Liberal government of Canada?

Yup.

Oops.

The next day, iPolitics followed up.
The report prompted the government to announce that no Liberal MPs would be allowed to allocate money to such groups this year. On Thursday, however, a government source said Employment Minister Patty Hajdu is looking at ways to make certain all funding decisions made by MPs through the program reflect the views of a pro-choice government.

That is a MASSIVE WIN for pro-choice forces in Canada!

iPolitics made further use of ARCC research.
Over the past five years, roughly $3.5 million in summer job grants has been allocated to anti-abortion groups through the program — most of the money coming from Conservative MPs but some grants in the $2,000-$3,000 range being allocated by Scarborough-Guildwood Liberal MP John McKay, who is known to oppose abortion.

Which we also reported on.

So, while we laud iPolitics for taking up the story, their coverage under-reported the egregious and disgusting activities of the recipient of this handsome gift of our dough.

The Fetal Gore Gang, or as they prefer to style themselves, the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform, has been the subject of many, many blogposts here.

These are the sick puppies who seek to shock and shame with gory, inaccurate, and misleading images on bus ads (Peterborough successfully and Grande Prairie unsuccessfully), postcards shoved in mailboxes during the last election, dangerous banner drops over highways, etc.

So, while MP Khalid made a HUGE mistake, she sort of did us a favour by choosing one of the most hateful gangs out there. One that is very hard to defend as a bunch a kindly volunteer grannies seeking to gently dissuade pregnant people from exercising their constitutional rights.

We're waiting for the predictable SHRIEEEKING from the fetus freaks and will update.

*ARCC volunteers. This WIN is 99.9% down to Kathy Dawson (aka @blueskies at Twitter), quoted in the iPolitics stories. She is simply awesome. And a scary broad NOT to be pissed off. :-)

Righteous! Fetal Gore Gang LOSES Lawsuit!

The Fetal Gore Gang believes it has the right to force its misleading anti-choice messages and gory images on everyone. And to threaten people who resist with lawsuits. And of course their central demand is that people with uteruses be denied basic human rights and forced to continue unwanted pregnancies.

Force, threats, demands, and coercion. It's all bullies got.

So isn't it grand when bullies get their asses handed to them?

Just before xmas, the Fetal Gore Gang got pwned. By the City of Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Here's some background.

The bullies wanted to run this ad on city buses.

Grande Prairie said: nope.

Bullies said: we'll sue.

Grande Prairie said: bring it.

Unlike the craven bunch in Peterborough who caved at this point.

Madame Justice C.S. Anderson found for the city.
“I find the City’s decision to reject this particular ad was reasonable. I find the ad is likely to cause psychological harm to women who have had an abortion or who are considering an abortion. It is also likely to cause fear and confusion among children who may not fully understand what the ad is trying to express... (This ad may cause emotional reactions that could) create a hostile and uncomfortable environment,” wrote Anderson in her decision, adding by creating such an environment it would go against the city’s objective of having a safe and welcoming transit system.

The city's lawyer, Robert McVey, had also argued that the ad constituted hate speech.
The city rejected CCBR’s advertisement because it would have promoted hatred against “an identifiable class: women who have chosen to exercise their legal right to have an abortion,” according to the judge’s written statement.
(There is no online link to the judgment yet. I'll post it when it's available.) (ADDED: Judgment.)

Madam Justice Anderson did not find that the ad constitutes hate speech. While she looked favourably on the argument, she saw no need to determine whether it did or not represent hate speech. For the purpose of this case, it was enough to determine that Grande Prairie's decision to refuse the ad was a reasonable limit on free speech.

But for the sane people who oppose these lying shock tactics, that she looked favourably on the hate speech argument is exhilarating.

The judge also cited the Advertising Standards Canada Code, which the fetal gore gang has several times fallen afoul of and thumbed their noses at. While the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has a very high bar for reasonable limitations on free speech, the Code is more flexible. The judge said the city was justified in using those standards.

One more very encouraging sign. Madam Justice cited an option called "judicial notice" wherein judges may, in essence, do their own research. She went to the website on the ad and quoted a couple of the more outrageous statements (with words like "slaughter" and "evil"). She wrote: "These are strong statements that vilify women who have chosen, for their own reasons, to have an abortion; they are not merely informative and educational," as the fetal gore gang claimed. Ooh, they lie?

Of course, this is not over. Forcing transit companies to run their ads is what they *do* (when they're not endangering drivers with banner drops over highways, shoving yucky postcards in suburban mailboxes, or hanging around street corners with gigantic bloody fetus signs.)

I wrote about their detailed plan here.

Under "Conventional Advertising," the plan says: "We will develop ads that primarily emphasize the website and make use of vague messaging that intrigues the listener/viewer to check the site out."

Well, we hope people -- and future judges -- do check the site out, as Madam Justice Anderson did. And come to their own (reasonable) conclusions.

That these are lying, manipulative bullies who seek to criminalize a common medical procedure by holding ordinary people -- patients and providers alike -- up to ridicule, hatred, and perhaps violence.

As far as we know, there is still a pending situation in Hinton, AB. (Anybody know what's going on there? Let me know.)

And since it's the fetal gore gang's plan to target all of us with their bullshit, I expect there are other campaigns afoot.

For now, let's celebrate a win. And congratulate the City of Grande Prairie. I found a general email: citizencontactcentre@cityofgp.com. And a Twitter account @CityofGP. In particular I'd like to congratulate Transit Manager Jason Henry.

It is always righteous to stand up to bullies.

Fetal Gore Impact Study FAIL

Back here I promised to have at the "study" commissioned by the Fetal Gore Gang that tries to deliver on its long-standing claims that shoving gory images in people's faces does anything but make them recoil and occasionally toss chocolate milk.

Here is the announcement of the study's birth.

The study titled A Statistical Analysis on the Effectiveness of Abortion Victim Photography in Pro-life Activism was commissioned by the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR). The CCBR developed a survey — administered by the independent company Blue Direct — which targeted the population of geographic areas in which CCBR campaigns had been run using abortion victim photography. With a sample size of more than 1,700 respondents, the survey results are sufficient to gauge public opinion within a five-point margin, the study claims.

Link to PDF for them's as like to look for themselves.

The PhD in need of a few bucks author of the report is Jacqueline Harvey. Among her credentials: U.S. Policy Analyst for Euthanasia Prevention Coalition International, team member at Charlotte Lozier Institute (anti-choice wannabe answer to prestigious Guttmacher Institute), and featured for-hire false witness.

'Nuff said there.

The independent company mentioned in the LieShite quote is Blue Direct.

It's based in Alberta and it pitches itself thus:
As a results oriented company, we’ll work with you while continuously testing and tweaking what we’re doing to ensure you get the best results.
I read the "study" (twenty minutes I'll never get back). My eyes were already crossed by the biased language and idiosyncratic categories when I got to page 20 and saw this table.

First, just try to make any sense of that. "Cultural impact" is a thing? Not in any sociology textbook I can find. Also "cultural impact" heading has some numbers, but the footer has some other numbers.

"Pro-life percentage points gained"? Is that like IQ points lost trying to make sense of this scientifically and statistically illiterate word salad?

And the "points gained" is 1.20% and the MOE of the study is acknowledged at 5%?

Moronic.

The take-away: This is why Real Science™ requires peer review.

The conclusion: Come back, Fetal Gore Gang, when you can get this kind of crap published in a real scientific journal.

Shock and Gore: The Plan to Shove Yucky Images in ALL Our Faces

Chances are, if you've seen a disgustingly gory anti-choice ad, truck, postcard, billboard, or display, the Fetal Gore Gang is behind it.

DJ! has covered their various stunts, most recently, their efforts to force city buses to carry their deliberately deceptive ads.

The gang runs the ongoing Genocide Awareness Project, an incredibly offensive campaign -- often foisted on university campuses -- that draws direct comparisons between abortion and the Holocaust and lynchings and slavery of Black people in the US.

They were behind the gory postcards shoved into people's mailboxes during the last election.

In 2012, they announced with great fanfare that they were co-opting the Canadian pro-choice icon,The Abortion Caravan, though their rendition consisted of not quite a caravan but a single vehicle, dubbed by sane people the FetusMobile.

Tragically, the FetusMobile somehow got lost on its way to its grand finale at Ottawa's Canada Day celebration. It just never appeared and no explanation was offered.

And don't forget the "Reproductive Choice Campaign" that contributes to global warming by driving big-ass gore-covered trucks aimlessly around, usually in Calgary, where they're based.

So, we wondered, is there a plan behind all the gore glorification? Is there something more going on than that 10-year-old boy who ripped his bandaid off to show squealing girls his giant owie?

Apparently. At their site, there's a 26-page PDF from 2011 detailing the plan to "End the Killing". (Har.)

(PDFs are a pain to cut and paste from, so please excuse screen shots.)

Under "Methods" (which is a bit of a misnomer; it should be titled "Justifications"), the document states that two "fundamental truths" underlie their activities.

1. Canadians don't know what abortion is. We believe it is something like a Brazilian wax, but paid for by Medicare.

2. Canadians won't "understand" what the gang wants them to understand unless it's shoved in their faces.

To fix this, under "Goals" (p. 3), they plan to shove yucky faked-up photos in all our faces. On a schedule.

Under "Bypassing the Gatekeepers" (p. 4), they acknowledge that sane Canadians, the vast majority of whom are perfectly content with the lack of abortion laws, really really don't want such shit shoved in our faces. Of course, they call this sensible reaction to egregious gore "censorship."

In the "Conventional Advertising" section (p. 17), they claim censorship again in what is really just advertisers and media companies preferring NOT to disgust and alienate their readers/viewers.

Note also that they intend to use "vague messaging."

Throughout, the document is positively gleeful about how "controversial," "shocking," and "graphic" they intend the campaign to be.

And in that, at least, they've been successful. There have been lots of media stories about peoples' reactions to these bullying tactics.

Too bad other antichoice organizations are not so keen on shocking, graphic controversy.

Imagine that. Even more mainstream fetus freaks recognize that scaring children and disgusting normal people is not the way to win hearts and minds.

Regular people are fighting back with a petition calling on the Government of Canada to create limitations on what gore can be shoved into our unwitting faces.

The Fetal Gore Gang continues to insist -- on no evidence whatsoever -- that such bullying "works."

To answer their critics who've been saying "Oh yeah? Prove it" for years, they've recently commissioned a "study" which I intend to have at later. I'll put a link up here when it's done. It's done.

Lies, Hate, and Bus Ads

This is the ad that the fetal gore gang is trying to force onto buses in Hinton and Grande Prairie, AB, after Peterborough, ON caved to their threats. Perhaps there are other cities targetted; we don't know.

Note that this is a departure for them. This is the banner they dropped over a busy highway in Hamilton, ON.

And here's the fuzzed-out-for-public-consumption sample of the postcards they stuffed in people's maiboxes.

The bus ad is less gory, but no less lying hate propaganda.

First, the images. The 7-week fetus looks to be the same size or even bigger than the 16-week fetus. Which is misleading to say the least. According to this baby-friendly site, a 7-week fetus is the size of a blueberry and a 16-week fetus is the size of an avocado.

Next the words. "Abortion kills children." No. No children are involved in abortion. This is a blatant lie.

Then: "End the killing." This is a call to action. The gore gang does not specify how it wants people to "end" it, so a fanatic could interpret it as he sees fit.

As Robert Dear, the Colorado Planned Parenthood murderer, did. He said to police "no more baby parts," referring to the totally bogus claim that PP sells fetal tissue. Dear killed three people and injured nine more on a shooting spree outside a clinic.

Also, it's interesting that they chose those two stages of development.

Just about everyone -- pro- and anti-choice -- agree that 90% of abortions in Canada are done in the first trimester, earlier than 12 weeks.

A commonly cited study is the comprehensive POWER report (pdf), done in 2012 in Ontario.

From the Summary (page 93) under Abortion Rate:
Almost all procedures (93 percent) were early stage abortions (performed before 16 weeks gestation)."

As we've pointed out previously, later-term abortions represent a tiny proportion of abortions (0.4% after 20 weeks) and are overwhelmingly wanted pregnancies gone catastrophically wrong.

ARCC says:
A very small number of abortions occur after 20 weeks of gestation primarily because the fetus is gravely or fatally impaired, or the woman's life or physical health is at risk, or both (Statistics
Canada, 2003; [link]). Many impairments or health risks are not detectable until after the 24th week of gestation.

So, by representing the 16th week in the ad, the fetal gore gang is singling out those people who have and provide abortions after 16 weeks.

A tiny group of people but "an identifiable group."

And that's what makes this "hate propaganda" as defined in the Criminal Code.

Not only are the images deliberately deceptive and cruelly triggering for people who have had miscarriages or later-term abortions for horrible reasons, add in the words and we've got hate propaganda.

This is why this shit needs to be stopped.

If you haven't yet, please join the nearly 4,000 Canadians who have signed a petition calling on the federal government to regulate this lying hate speech.

Did Targetting Town for Refusing Anti-Choice Ad Result in Defunding Fake Clinic?

Oh, dear. The town of Hinton, Alberta, is having some troubles.

We reported on the funding of its fake clinic, doing business as West YellowHead Pregnancy Care Centre, back in November 2014.

The Hinton fake clinic was getting dough not only from from the Alberta Lottery Fund, but also from the town's photo radar scam, which turns traffic ticket fees into "community grants."

The fake clinic was doing pretty nicely with annual revenues of over $100K, which is not bad considering the population of Hinton is under 10,000. By contrast, the fake clinic in Medicine Hat, with a population six times that of Hinton, scrapes by on about $60K a year.

HInton's fake clinic has received nearly $40K in the last three years from the photo radar scam.

But not this year. They applied for $17K and were turned down (PDF, page 9) in April.

And Hinton has other troubles. Like several other small centres, it is being sued by the fetal gore porn gang, aka Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform (CCBR), over its refusal to run said fetal gore on its buses.

Here's a story mainly about Grande Prairie, AB on the stunt.
A pro-life group is suing the City of Grande Prairie because it feels its rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms were violated.
The story mentions that Hinton is also being targetted by CCBR.

"The city's [Grande Prairie] position on this is that we really don't want to take a position. We don't want to be involved in this debate. We don't think it's appropriate for the city to really take a side," said city lawyer Robert McVey*.
Nope. Nothing to do with us. We're completely neutral on the topic.

Well, maybe Grande Prairie can say that but Hinton's record of handing out significant amounts of dough to a fake clinic says otherwise. Maybe that's why the fetal gore gang picked them out?

Let's look at the dates. In January, the town reported that it is reviewing its transit ad policy (PDF, page 2), citing this as the reason.
The Town is currently being challenged by an outside agency that has had their request to advertise on our transit bus, refused by the Town. Having a policy in place will help to avoid being in a similar situation with other groups in the future.
In April, the town declines the fake clinic's request for dough.

Hmmm. Is it trying to distance itself from its own fetus freaks? Trying to position itself -- like Grande Prairie -- as having no, none, nada, zip dog in this race?

Sadly, the fake clinic seemed to be counting on that dough. It is now downsizing.
The West Yellowhead Pregnancy Care Centre in Hinton is going to look a lot different as of next month.

Starting June 15, the facility will only operate as a satellite centre. According to a press release, there will be one volunteer counsellor at the centre which clients can access by appointment only.

The centre is downsizing due to a “significant decrease in funding and change in client numbers” the press release reads.
Boo-hoo.

But consider: did the fetal gore gang's aggressive move have the unintended consequence of forcing the town to distance itself from the fake clinic, and thus cutting off desperately needed funding?

Rather delicious, isn't it?

* Sidebar for those who are interested in arguments around this so-called free speech issue.

In June, LieShite reported on the situation in Grande Prairie.
In court this week, however, the northern Alberta city’s lawyers argued that the ad constituted “hate propaganda.” Stated the city’s brief: “The ad with its graphic images and strong language effectively equates women who have had abortions with murderers. Such a pointed accusation is not only legally incorrect, it exposes such women to hatred.”

Further into the brief, the city goes further, contending the ad was not intended, as CCBR contended, to educate the public about abortion but “was actually designed to promote hatred against an identifiable class.” The city called the CCBR’s position, based on the use of words such as “slaughter” and “evil” on its website, an “extreme religious” viewpoint.
Hate propaganda. Targetting an identifiable group. What we've been saying.

If you agree and haven't yet, please sign the anti-gore e-petition. It needs only 500 signatures to be presented to Parliament and now stands at 3872, but more would be better. We blogged about the petition here.

h/t to Kathy Dawson, (@blueskies366) for critical links. Also eagle eye. :)

Canadians Demand Action to Get the Gore Out of Our Faces

Abortion is a legal, common, safe -- and except in the tiny minds of a tiny minority -- ordinary medial procedure.

For the tiny minds, however, it is "killing" and they want it stopped.

To that end, some groups -- most notably the Fetal Gore Porn Gang, aka Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform -- will go to any lengths, including endangering drivers, scaring children, and disgusting just about everyone with their antics.

Some towns and cities have stood up to the gore-meisters. Others have caved, in fear of being taken to court over "free speech."

Well, Canadians are sick of the gore shoved in their and their children's faces and sick of their craven politicians, elected -- supposedly -- to represent constituents.

An e-petition to the Parliament of Canada is demanding action.

Text of the petition:
Petition to the Government of Canada
Whereas:
• Groups have been gathering in peaceful protest against abortion showing graphic imagery;
• The sight of such imagery is being exposed to nonconsenting individuals and children;
• Imagery may be triggering for persons who have suffered trauma and loss involving pregnancy, infancy, childbirth, etc.., including but not limited to: miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, abortion, domestic violence, and fleeing a country involved in war.

We, the undersigned, Citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to please intervene and create law setting out the limitations as to what imagery and content can be used in a protest or similar demonstration that is subject to public viewing.

The petition was started on August 15 and yesterday at about 7 p.m. I saw a tweet from Campaign Lie.

When I signed it, it had just over 1200 signatures. This morning, over 1800.

Clearly, this is something Canadians care about and want fixed.

If you care too, please sign it and pass the link along.

Here's the link in plain text for easy copying: https://petitions.parl.gc.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-485

(We at DAMMIT JANET! contend that such ads and displays constitute hate speech. They target the patients and providers of a particular legal medical service and hold them up to ridicule, hate, and possibly violence. We'll have more to say about this later.)

Anti-Choice's Desperation to Avoid Responsibility

Nah, fetus freaks aren't desperate to avoid the stink of pro-life terrorism atall atall.

In the Fetal Gore Porn Guy's second kick at the no-connection-between-violent-anti-choice-imagery-and-language-and-Colorado-Planned-Parenthood-murders can, there is this jaw-dropper.

The pro-abortion worldview is one based on the very simple premise that violence—the physical destruction of a human being developing in the womb—is the answer to virtually every imaginable situation.

Ah, yeah. It's pro-choice who thinks violence* is the answer to everything. After all, it's us pro-choicers who murder, assault, fire-bomb, send death threats, post "wanted" posters, harass people outside medical clinics. . .

Wait. No. That would be the anti-abortion gang.

After the Colorado rampage, Bryn Greenwood, who goes by @clinicescort on Twitter, devoted her timeline to the various acts of terrorism she experienced as a clinic worker. Here it is in Storified form.

If you have the stomach for it, read the whole thing, but here's the nub.

In addition to being absolutely incapable of detecting irony, Fetus Freaks also have an extraordinary ability to avoid introspection. Witness this from Fetal Gore Guy's first kick at the no-connection-between etc can.
It’s interesting, isn’t it, how the Left functions. If an Islamic terrorist shoots up a theatre, he is “not a real Muslim” and “not following the peaceful tenets of True Islam.” However, if some strange nutcase opens fire outside a Planned Parenthood and proceeds to murder a pro-life pastor police officer, immediately we are all to assume that this person is definitely a Real Christian, and represents All Christians.
And then he goes on to twist himself into knots trying to show there's no-connection-between etc. All a terrible coincidence.

Well, golly. Today we learned that the Colorado shooter asked for directions to the clinic.

Yep. Pro-life terrorism. This is on them.

And they know it.

* Here's an example of pro-choice violence: assault by chocolate milk. And, gee, it was perpetrated against the Fetal Gore Gang. Have a read of what drove the passer-by over the edge from the Fetal Gore Gang itself.

Backlash Bites

I know I said I was done with the sick puppies running the fetal gore porn campaign, No2Trudeau, but this is too delicious.

Terence Young, CPC MP for Oakville, said he wrote a letter to the Fetal Gore Gang.

Here it is. (Click to enlarge.)

Last paragraph: "Rather than changing the hearts of minds of people on abortion, these flyers will ensure most people will never listen to anything you have to say."

That's harsh enough, but consider the source. Campaign Lie gives Young cautious approval. (It seems he said abortion should be allowed for "rape, incest or disabled," displaying an unacceptable level of compassion.)

When even your usual allies are disgusted -- or getting so many outraged complaints from constituents that they feel they must say Something -- you might want to rethink your tactics.

Ha. Not this deranged gang. Watch. They'll double down.

MOST MASSIVIST ANTI-CHOICE CAMPAIGN EVAH!

The Fetal Gore Porn Gang -- you remember, the same group of nutbars who attempted to co-opt the Abortion Caravan -- along with Campaign Lie have a new campaign billed as "the biggest pro-life campaign Canada has ever seen."

DJ! reported on its launch last week. That's an account by an attendee at the Victoria event who had some uncomfortable and, apparently, unanswerable questions for the organizers.

Well, now that they're a week into their current road trip, let's have a look at how they're doing. (They really like road trips, don't they? Maybe because it gets them out from under the parental/pastoral thumb?)

Here's the schedule with handy Facebook links.

Oddly, the FB page for the Victoria bunfest on March 13 is "unavailable."

Here are some details from the other knees-upses. I'm using their own numbers. (Go to "schedule" link for individual FB links; I'm too lazy to code them all.)

In Vancouver on March 14, out of 655 invited, 43 "went."

In Chiliwack on March 16, 35 out of 577 invitees attended.

Kelowna on March 18, 11 out of 77.

Calgary on March 19, 35 out of 512.

Edmonton on March 21, 28 out of 429.

Next up is Saskatoon on March 24. So far 126 have been invited and 21 are "going" with 7 "maybes'." For Brandon on March 27, 10 of 110 plan to go. Regina on March 25 has no FB page and 30 Winnipegers of 418 invitees intend on going.

Then there are several in Ontario, then the one I'm planned on visiting, Toronto on April 10. The fetus freaks have great hopes of this one. They've invited 1.2k, of which so far 63 are going with 47 maybes.

That's not counting me, so add one there.

The April 20 event in Fredericton should be interesting given recent events there. Twenty-five of 205 invitees have confirmed their attendance so far.

Strangely, there is no Ottawa event listed.

The last event on the schedule is on May 12 in Peterborough.

Then nothing until May 25, but this final event in Woodstock, ON, is billed as "End the Killing," the tag-line of their Old New Abortion Caravan wankeroo. And it is a "CLOSED" event.

Their partner, Campaign Lie, however, is holding its MASSIVE annual martyrgasm, March of the Fetii, in Ottawa on May 14.

Might the Fetal Gore Gang be planning another Grand Finale?

As they did for the 2012 March for Lies with their Grand Jete de FetusMobile?

Which got unaccountably lost. (As reported by both JJ, the Unrepentant and DJ!.)

Maybe they don't want to, you know, create any unfulfillable expectations.

But let's go back to the numbers.

Even if they're telling the truth -- hey, there's a first time for everything! -- they are kind of sad, aren't they?

Forty-three in Vancouver and 35 in Calgary, which are pretty big cities.

There are 23 stops on the tour. If they get an average -- let's be generous -- of 30 per venue, that's just under 700 people.

But, see, these gatherings are not the point. The point is to hand out ONE MILLION pieces of trademark gore porn.
"This will be the biggest pro-life campaign in Canadian history," the campaign organizers state. But they stress that, "In order for us to do this, the pro-life movement will need thousands of boots on the ground across the country to participate in the #No2Trudeau campaign in whatever form of activism they feel comfortable with."
THOUSANDS OF BOOTS ON THE GROUND!!!

And they're on track for about 700 pairs, or 1400 boots.

Which is going to be interesting since by my calculation, to hit ONE MILLION PIECES, each boot is going to have to hand out more than 700 pieces.

On Twitter, on the #no2Trudeau hashtag, they're claiming victory because no one is engaging in discussion. Also because "proborts" (typo or new styling? I kinda like it) are deleting tweets. I don't think they get this Twitter thingamajig.

I'm enjoying this and will keep you posted.

If any of you have some time and would like to check them out, here again is their schedule. DJ! would be pleased to offer a venue for your reports.

In Beleaguered Calgary, a Tireless Multi-Tasker Toils

Poor Calgary. While home to many good and decent people, it is also headquarters for PetroState Canada as well as the country's most disgusting and self-righteous gang of fetus freaks, the Canadian Centre for Bioethical *ptui* Reform (CCBR), whose gory website you can look up yourself if you've a mind to.

They've plagued various parts of our fair land with their crap, but Calgary is their home base and special target.

When they're not dropping traffic-accident-causing gore banners over highway overpasses, they're stuffing residential mailboxes with their faked-up abortion porn.

The citizens of Calgary have fought back in various ways over the years. But after the last assault, when yet another appeal to the city to do SOMETHING resulted in arms flung up in helplessness, a group of parents (kinda ironic, eh?) decided to start a petition.

Oct 8, 2014 — We are now past 200 signatures which is a great feat in only 84 hours. Calgary City Council has put it forward for discussion but a city lawyer has stated there is little they can do. We disagree. Denver, Colorado has banned these images already. Hamilton, Ontario is in the midst of restricting them too. We have the bylaw already written for them. All they have to do is pass it. Please keep sharing, post on your social media and telling your friends and family. We need to keep the pressure on to make sure this can be passed as a bylaw here too. Please start using #protectyyckids and #yyccc when posting on twitter and facebook.

Please sign it and help stop the shameless misinformation and egregious shock.

Out of this kerfuffle though came an interesting tidbit, from the investigations of one pissed-off recipient of the anti-choice propaganda.
The Calgary teacher said he was just as shocked, however, when he started looking into the CCBR and found a staffer for Health Minister Rona Ambrose supporting the group’s more controversial actions online.

Daniel Gilman, who is listed in the federal government’s employee directory as an assistant to Ambrose, said in a tweet last year he’s “thankful” for the CCBR “project” that involves hanging graphic banners from overpasses above major roadways, including Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, where earlier this year a minor car crash occurred below one of the banners.

[The image has been digitally blurred by Metro.]

And here's young Daniel waxing all poetical-like about the recent moronic display of underground gasline markers on Parliament Hill. Link.

The gasline markers were the work of We Need a Law, an astroturf front for the Dominionist Association for Reformed Political Action, so it appears that Mr Gilman, like all good political assistants, is a multi-tasker, able to serve many masters and mistresses.

His boss, THE FUCKING FEDERAL HEALTH MINISTER, should be proud.

What They Say And What They Do

I've pulled a few things out of my previous post to consider a bit more.

While reading about Forced Pregnancy Promotion sidewalk proselytizing at Canadian high schools, I was struck by a couple of quotes from one media article.
Doug Liberty, whose16-year-old daughter, Halle, was accosted by the protesters, said picketing a school at rush hour is simply dangerous. "She was approached by this person, she said she didn't want to speak to them and they got right in her face," Liberty said. "She was very irritated and upset by the whole thing."
Later in the same article we hear from the 'righteous' group responsible for a multitude of anti-choice protests across the country Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform.
For Stephanie Gray, the group's director, it's all about getting the message out when the audience is there. She specifically rejected allegations students were accosted during the action. "Our team holds signs and is stationary," she said. "Our style is to be stationary and if people wish not to engage with us that is up to them."

CCBR is the Canadian farm team of this American group CBR, who calls them CBR-Canada and has a Stephanie Gray video featured on their front page.  There are a lot of things to be addressed about them and their preferred fellow travellers but I want to address that talking point of who's accosting whom.  Free speech for the picketers? To the letter of the law.  For the students? Not so much. The words of a teacher at one of the schools picketed...
"Obviously," he says, "I believe that people have a freedom of speech but, you know, something that one of the kids said was that: the students actually don't get to choose to go to school. So on one hand there's freedom of speech, but on the other hand there's [the fact that] kids actually aren't free to avoid those messages" — giant posters of dead fetuses displayed "prominently" in front of their school.
and...
"I think telling girls who find themselves in difficult situations, who have to make difficult choices, I think calling them a murderer, is an act of violence," he says. "I think putting a focus on women's bodies and increasing women's shame is an act of violence. And I think doing that in a space that students are forced to be in is potentially an act of violence."
Ok, that's directly targeting legally juvenile Canadian high school students -at- their schools.  What about actual medical clinics and hospitals that include abortion among their services? Let's go for the gusto. Let's hear from the US, the legal environment CBR/CCBR also feel is too liberal in allowing utero-humans control over their bodies, but at least would be an improvement over the professed Netherworld of Casual Murder and Indifference To SufferingTM that is Canada.

From Shakesville blog, a guest post by a clinic escort:
Sometime this summer, the Supreme Court will rule on the constitutionality of buffer zones around abortion clinics. Buffer zones keep protesters out of the immediate vicinity of the clinic, and allow patients and staff to safely access clinics. Many of them are fairly small—15 to 30 feet wide.  Opponents of buffer zones claim that they infringe on free speech: If people want to talk to the clients of abortion clinics, if they want to protest the operations of the clinic, it is their constitutional right to do so. The figurehead of this opposition is Ellen McCullen, a charming grandmother of four who claims she just wants to "walk and talk gently, lovingly," with clinic clients.
Sound familiar? Read on. Lovingly, I don't think it means what she or CCBR think it means.  They can claim the words, they can claim empathy, they can claim Morality(whatever that means to them) but how they walk the talk is where people need to pay attention.

PS: You know what's odd? I can't define any difference between Anti-Reproductive Freedom promoters who'd force people to serve their sexual fears and the Westboro Baptist Church's free speech protests, yet the WBC draws far greater international condemnation of their aggressive crusade of lies and cruelty condemning human sexual rights.  You know what's odder? I'm not even sure the WBC has ever picketed schools or threatened to picket schools, without there being a shooting at one first.

Vancouver Canucks on Board with Gore Tour?

Oh dear. Seems like someone closely associated with another NHL team has stepped in the fetushist cowpie.
Mark Donnelly is an opera singer based out of Vancouver, but he's perhaps best-known as the Canadian anthem singer at Vancouver Canucks games. The tenor has been leading the Rogers Arena crowd in his stirring renditions of "O Canada" for years, and he's become a recognizable local figure for it. He's very closely linked to the team, listed on the Canucks' website under Game Entertaiment Performers and often touted as "Canucks anthem singer Mark Donnelly" in commercials and at other Vancouver events.

That in mind, one has to wonder how the team feels that their noted anthem singer has also decided to become closely associated with the New Abortion Caravan, a group of trucks with 7-foot tall and 22-foot long billboards adorned with graphic abortion imagery that will be driving across Canada beginning this week.

On Tuesday, he sang the anthem at their launch on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Yup. There is he is. Nice images for a family-friendly sports franchise eh?

This is what he had to say before he sang:
"I'd just like to say. There's a lot of Canadians, both born and unborn, and this is for all of us, for everyone out here too and all of Canada.
Remember if we can't discuss things rationally, then we're not Canadians, we have to be able to talk."
Doesn't sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer, does he?

But trading on his local celebrity to help launch an anti-abortion campaign in Crunchy Granola Land?

Not cool.

Here's the Gore Gang he's now associated with. These are the people also behind the 'Genocide Awareness Project', which regularly causes ruckuses on university campuses. And of course, there's the infamous postcard campaign that mightily pissed off Calgarians last March.

Now, DJ!'s sports fans will remember the spot of bother the Ottawa Senators found themselves in when their 'Better Halves' (that would be wives and girlfriends) decided to play footsie with a lying Xian forced crisis pregnancy centre*.

So. How's this little stunt going over with fetishists?

SUZY thinks it will open a whole new market to the Message.
The New Abortion Caravan Makes the...Sports Page?

The guy who sings O Canada at the Vancouver Canucks' Game sang the anthem at the launch of the New Abortion Caravan. Yahoo Sports covered it.

Way to go Abortion Caravan. People who were never exposed to abortion issue were not made aware of it. Thumbs up.
(Um, I think SUZY's got an extra 'not' in there? Or is SHE being subtle?)

How about the fans?

Oh dear again.

That would be the team's official Twitter account @VanCanucks.

In related news, you gotta follow @FetusCaravan, the blow-by-blow of the Gore Tour from inside the bus, so to speak. Hmm, the account seems to have undergone a staffing change. Related to this perhaps?

Rest assured that DJ! will be following this.

BREAKING! Fetus Lobby Enters Way-Back Machine

As we asked back here, what the hell are the Fetushists® up to with their cheesy teaser?

Today's the Big Day. Finally we can answer the burning question.

Not much.
Anti-Abortion Activists Highjack Abortion Rights’ Pet Project

Young adults with the anti-abortion group, Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform have released details today about their plan to take a project once used to advance abortion rights, the 1970 Abortion Caravan, and to instead abolish abortion with their own spin-off: The New Abortion Caravan.

In one week’s time, 20-plus young people ranging in ages from 19-36 will be driving box-bodied trucks with 7-foot tall and 22-foot wide posters of aborted children, demonstrating on street corners with similar graphics, and circulating postcards at peoples’ homes. They are starting their campaign in Vancouver on May 29, travelling across the country and ending in Ottawa on Canada Day.

CCBR’s executive director Stephanie Gray explained the historical significance of her group’s tour: “We have taken the sacred cow of Canada’s abortion rights movement and are using it to advance the cause for pre-born children.”
Pet project? Sacred cow?

From forty-plus fucking years ago?

Zowee. They've gassed up a few more FetusMobiles®.

JJ dubbed their perambulating fetal porn trucks FetusMobiles® at least five years ago.

And they've been pissing people off ever since.

The Fetushizers Are Coming!

The fetushizers* are coming! The fetushizers are coming!
One of Canada’s leading pro-life organizations is stepping up its efforts with a campaign aimed at completely ending abortion in Canada within 20 years.

“We don’t exist merely to fight abortion, but to actually end the killing,” says Stephanie Gray, co-founder and executive director of the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform.

Last month, CCBR launched ‘EndtheKilling’, a vision for jump-starting pro-life activism across Canada through targeted educational campaigns and networking with pro-life groups throughout the country.

“We’re building an army, essentially, of foot soldiers,” explained Gray.

This is the gang behind the Fetus Mobile and the Holocaust = Abortion bullshit.

They are planning a MASSIVE new innovative campaign featuring -- wait for it -- Flyers! Signs! Dead fetus pr0n!

These wingnuts are going to double-down on poor Calgary and -- oooooo -- invade Toronto!
CCBR will focus its own efforts especially on Calgary, where they are currently based, and Toronto, where they plan to open a second office in the near future. They are counting on support from local pro-life groups to reach communities across the country.

By 2020, the organization aims to have every person in Calgary exposed to the graphic abortion images at least weekly, and the same for Toronto by 2030.

We're shaking in our boots here.

Nice of them though to give us warning. Time for clever and sane Torontonians to come up with some competition for this anti-fetus-fetishist campaign, or as it was sneakily disguised, Tubby Dogs' Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Methinks they got their work cut for them in Toronto, though. I regularly ride the streetcar that passes the Cabbagetown Women's Clinic. Over the last 40 Days of Harassment, I never saw more than two zygote zealots standing forlornly across the street holding their dopey signs.

*@Dr. Dawg: Sue me. ;-)

ADDED: Toronto has an idling bylaw. (Can't idle for more than 1 minute in 60 minutes.) Calgary seems to have only downloadable signs to remind drivers of the waste. When the Fetus Mobile comes to Toronto, perhaps vigilant citizens could keep an eye out for more than one-minute stops. Document with cell-phone photos and times and dates to be uploaded to a Fetus Mobile Watch site. After all, we don't want our air polluted any more than it is. Do we?
