Lying AntiChoice Liars on M312

The above drawing, from here, encapsulates the odious dishonesty at the heart of M312.

The pregnant women are featureless incubators, whose human rights are secondary to the *personhood* rights that Blob Blogging Whinge-Nut SUZANNE and other assorted lobbyists for The Fetus©™ would shove down the throat of the majority of Canadians who believe that the current manner of administering abortion works well.

The fetuses look like one-month-old infants, not the *preborn* that the lying liars are always yammering about.

The various antichoice dissemblers quoted want to criminalize a medical intervention that is currently provided to pregnant women by healthcare professionals. Those are not practiced capriciously, as the grotesque caricature suggests, 2 days before the end of gestation.

Here's a good example of prevarication and extreme ideological glurge, as expressed by Stephanie Gray:
We support any incremental measures that are effective in saving lives and which act to limit, not introduce, the evil of abortion. Evangelium Vitae provides a helpful guideline by stating, “when it is not possible to overturn or completely abrogate a pro-abortion law, an elected official, whose absolute personal opposition to procured abortion was well known, could licitly support proposals aimed at limiting the harm done by such a law and at lessening its negative consequences at the level of general opinion and public morality. This does not in fact represent an illicit cooperation with an unjust law, but rather a legitimate and proper attempt to limit its evil aspects.”

Because Canada has an absence of any law on abortion, and because in such a situation that means any abortion is permitted, and because our criminal code does not consider the pre-born human beings until they have “completely proceeded, in a living state, from the body of [their] mother[s],” we support gestational limits on abortion. Our ultimate goal is that all abortions be banned, but we recognize that achieving that larger goal means meeting smaller goals in the meantime. Every year in Canada, 100,000 children are killed. We believe all 100,000 need to be saved, but if we cannot save 100,000 right away, we believe that saving 10,000 (or whatever number we can in the meantime) is better than 0. Because no abortions are currently banned, introducing a gestational ban on abortion acts to limit, rather than introduce, the evil.

Time flies when you're ^NOT having fun.

So it was one calendar year ago today that the majority of voters said WTF? as they took stock of what would eventually be known as The Great CON electoral fraud.

On Twitter, the numerous critics of The Harper Regime©™ vented, expressing some amusing and scathing observations about PMSHithead's first year of rule.

Here's a sample of #Harpers1stYear:

There's a lot more of those, naming the numerous anti-democratic *accomplishments* of this fraudulent governement.

My own CONtribution:

Catholic Church only *protects* The Fetus©™, not girls.

At DAMMIT JANET! we write a lot about pedophile priests since it's one of the perfect examples of the utilitarian character of Catholic doctrine that claims to defend and protect the interests of the unborn - zygote, embryo, fetus - yet abandons children to the sexual vicissitudes of its clergy.

Here's the latest example of Vatican Taliban hypocrisy.
She was a 13-year-old girl, fifth child of seven in a devout Catholic family in suburban Roslyn whose mother attended Mass once or twice daily.

But the girl dreaded Sunday mornings.

Not because of a crisis of faith but because she knew it would mean another morning of groping by the Rev. Albert T. Kostelnick.

The woman, now in her mid-50s, told a Philadelphia jury this morning about how Kostelnick, now retired, fondled her for two years as she worked in the rectory of St. John of the Cross church in Roslyn - and then did the same to two of her sisters who followed her into the job.

"I didn't know what to do," the woman told the Common Pleas Court jury. "I felt helpless and trapped. My parents expected me to work."

The woman's testimony continued the prosecution's effort to show how Msgr. William J. Lynn and other church leaders shuffled and protected priests suspected of sexual misconduct or abuse.

Lynn, who as secretary of clergy from 1992 to 2004 ran the office that recommended priests' assignments, is the first church official nationwide to be tried for allegedly enabling or covering up clergy sex-abuse.

His codefendant, the Rev. James J. Brennan, is charged with attempting to rape a 14-year-old boy in 1996.

Both have denied the accusations.

Although Kostelnick is not criminally charged in trial, city prosecutors are citing his case and others to show a pattern in which Lynn and officials of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia showed concern for the sexually abusive priests, but not their victims.
"... a pattern in which ... officials of the Archdiocese ... showed concern for the sexually abusive priests, but not their victims ..." Multiply that by thousands and thousands, in every country in the world, since the first century.

Will this please Blob Blogging Wingnut? (revised)

Blob Blogging Wingnut aka RoseBlue on Twitter, spends hundreds of hours on the internet. It's safe to state SHE's taken to digital technology like a fish to water and SHE uses incessantly it to flog HER abortion-criminalizing screeds about The Fetus©™.

So, how will SHE respond to this?
The Catholic Church has approved an iPhone app that helps guide worshippers through confession. [...]

Described as "the perfect aid for every penitent", it offers users tips and guidelines to help them with the sacrament.

Now senior church officials in both the UK and US have given it their seal of approval, in what is thought to be a first.

The app takes users through the sacrament - in which Catholics admit their wrongdoings - and allows them to keep track of their sins.

It also allows them to examine their conscience based on personalised factors such as age, sex and marital status - but it is not intended to replace traditional confession entirely.

Instead, it encourages users to understand their actions and then visit their priest for absolution.
Pope Maledict has reportedly urged catholic faithful "to embrace digital communication and make their presence felt online." Does that mean ALLCAPS is banking indulgences by the 1000s with HER furious blogging and tweeting?

Update: It appears that the Catholic confession app has only been approved by US bisphops as a guide. The Vatican Taliban is not amused and has issued a statement that this is not a substitution for the sacrament, here.

Of ignorance and truthiness ...

First, those darn funny Republicans.

Exhibit 1: Barbara Bush claims that fetus-in-a-jar that George W remembers was not hers. It was the housekeeper's.

George W. Bush had written in Decision Points that his mother had showed him the dead fetus of a potential brother or sister when he was a teenager, and that the incident had helped implant in his mind the belief that abortion was fundamentally wrong.
So if that was a "potential brother or sister" of Dubya, who's his real mother? (We know who's his daddy - the ressemblance is frightening.)

Exhibit 2: Palin accuses the media of picking on her - again.

[...] Sarah Palin found time to lash out at her political foes - in this case the media for blowing out of proportion her gaffe on the Korean crisis. [...]

Of the media reports that followed her little mix-up, she said, "Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn't resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline." And for her part, Palin couldn't resist firing back.

As this political observer notes out, the specific gaffe is not the point, it's Palin's proud, happy-as-a-pig-in-shit ignorance that's the problem.

Oh. And also. Too.

Exhibit 3: Pope Maledict and the Vatican Taliban now claim condom use by men during "not-normal sex" to prevent HIV transmission is OK.

Renowned moral theologian Janet Smith makes an analogy in her essay on the current controversy. “If someone was going to rob a bank and was determined to use a gun, it would better for that person to use a gun that had no bullets in it. It would reduce the likelihood of fatal injuries.”

Once more, the twisty logic demonstrates that catholic dogma and ideology is all about controlling female sexual and reproductive power. Condom use by women to prevent pregnancy and protect themselves from disease is still a CAPITAL sin.

More fascist than Pope Maledict.

Dr Dawg caught Blob Blogging Wingnut doing what SHE does best - shriEEEking.
The folks at St. Joseph's Parish in Ottawa are supporting the Capital Pride march on August 29.

What, tolerance squeezing through the door of the Catholic church? Not so fast. Big Blue Wave's SUZANNE is MASSIVELY pissed, and she's ratted them out to the Archbishop.
HER obsession with homosexuality - who is and who isn't, who's intolerant and who isn't - borders on the manic.

In recent weeks, SHE has been cyber-stalking Raymond Gravel, a former BQ MP who was ordered by the Vatican Taliban (no doubt prodded by Ayatollah Ouellet) to choose between the priesthood and politics.

One of HER blogposts shriEEEked:
Fr. Raymond Gravel dumps on pro-lifers, again.
Actually, Gravel was defending himself from more attacks from The Fetus©™ fetishists' fundraising and marketing organ, Lies-Site.

HER most recent screed about him was:
Fr. Raymond Gravel Celebrates Gay Pride Mass

At a Catholic Parish in Montreal. On the Feast of the Assumption. If I find any more details, I'll let you know.

Imagine that. A catholic priest celebrating a mass for devoted and observant believers in Jesus - gay men, lesbians, transgendered folks as well as their supportive family members and community.

But then, we knew that SUZIE-CAPS-ON! is one of the more rabid busy-bodies and panties-sniffers in thrall to Pope Maledict's Vatican Taliban.

Honorary doc from catholic college for Mahg-wet.

Is it a consolation prize - like Miss Con-geniality or something along those lines? Because poor Mahg-wet may not be getting the Order of Canada any time soon, no matter how much she whines.

As fern hill pointed out here, the GG-in-waiting is not at all popular with The Fetus©™ fetishists. In fact, there was likely some shrieeeking from that camp when his nomination was confirmed by Stevie. After all, David Johnston chaired the panel whose proposals were shredded by the zygote zealots. The feelings may be reciprocal; they may not his favourite folks either.

Recently, Mahg-wet vociferously championed the interests of donor-conceived offspring and proclaimed the harm they suffered was equivalent to the trauma experienced by aboriginal, "home" and native children who were separated from their biological/'natural' families by government interventions.

Dr Dawg has addressed the question of whether Mahg-wet is a "religious zealot in academic drag--opposing gay marriage, euthanasia and abortion, inveighing against stem cell research and adoption, but avoiding specifically religious vocabulary" before. Yesterday he provided observations then posted an email exchange initiated by professor Amir Attaran with Somerville about her recent Op-Ed.

There's nothing much to add to that brilliant exposé except Mahg-wet's McGill bio photograph that I found through links. Goodness gracious. A picture that's worth more than 1000 words especially if they're mutton, lamb, dressed as, etc. etc.

Religious or naught... ? Before and after? Good twin / evil twin? Dr Somerville and Ms Naugahyde?

Should women fall to their knees in gratitude?

Their Pomposities Ayatollah Ouellet and Archbishop Prendergass are multiplying their entreaties for those poor wimmin victimized by men, families and society that pressure them to submit to abortions.

No, the above is not satire. Ayatollah Ouellet, who flapped and flopped around in the last few weeks - issuing edicts, has been joined by Prendergass in some ecclesiastical round robin of "The More, the Fetus©™ Fetishizier".

And Ayatollah Ouellet (it's said he is grooming himself for popehood) is keen to wrap himself in the cloak of persecution by claiming his words were distorted:

On Wednesday, Ouellet told reporters that he was "a bit surprised by the magnitude of the reaction" to his comments, which he said had been "twisted" and taken out of context.

"They took one small phrase and created a weapon … to discredit me," Ouellet said.

From here.

In his press conference, Ayatollah Ouellet called on the different levels of government to provide pregnant women in distress with support and to enact laws that will limit women's access to a safe medical procedure.

In other news, the Vatican Taliban said that it would be happy to pay the bill for universally accessible and free 24/7 infant and toddler childcare but unfortunately, the religious institution is facing an increasing number of expensive lawsuits from women and men who were sexually abused as children, by Roman Catholic pedophile priests. "If only those wretches would find forgiveness in their hearts and drop their demands for a cash settlement, look what we could pay for!"

Truthiness and outright lies (with updates)

Ayatollah Ouellet was a speaker at this event, and while in the presence of flaming homophobes, he drew quite a bit of attention for his screed against women who have abortions. From here:

He called abortion a "moral crime" as serious as murder. Ouellet said he understands how a sexually assaulted woman has been traumatized and must be helped and that her attacker must be held accountable. "But there is already a victim," he said. "Must there be another one?"
Former MP and Catholic priest Raymond Gravel observed that this was the same-old same-old discourse of blaming and shaming women. He opposes the criminalization of abortion.

The Fetus©™ fetishist deputy Paul Szabo, à propos of the auditor general reviewing the books of the Board of Internal Economy which is the secretive House of Commons’ committee that administers MPs' allocated budgets, said: "... all of a sudden people would jump to conclusions without having all the facts".

That encapsulates the MASSIVE abortion-criminalizing and propaganda war being waged by the Zygote Zealots. Marie-Claude Lortie simply and eloquently demonstrates how pro-choice advocates are the sane, reasonable and humane thinkers in this confrontation. She would like a public discussion that would allow an authentic expression of concerns about abortion, without all the shrieeeking, the gynophobia, the hypocrisy and the tactical lies exploited by anti-abortionists.

At DJ!, we call them the Vulture Culture, since The Fetus©™ fetishists are willing to sacrifice women's lives in order to establish their theocratic dominion.

Why aren't Catholics like this one receiving the media attention they deserve, instead of gynophobes like Ayatollah Ouellet?

Consecrated women cannot remain silent in light of the sex scandals destroying the moral credibility of the Church, says Ursuline Sister Teresita Kambeitz.

"Who is going to speak out if we as consecrated women don't speak out?" Kambeitz asked. "Who is going to speak on behalf of the children? Who is going to encourage the good and faithful priests? Who is going to call the bishops to account?"

Kambeitz, a professor at St. Thomas More College in Saskatoon and a former professor at Newman Theological College, gave a series of talks on Hope-Filled Discipleship at the annual assembly of the Council of Consecrated Women (CCW) April 23-24.

Interestingly enough, she doesn't believe women should STFU. But of course, fundamentalist zealots like SUZANNE and Paycheck would likely call Sister Kambeitz a deluded and 'useful idiot'.

The Catholic Magisterium has established an ideological religious scheme founded on the premise that women are inherently evil, and that men are absolved from responsibility - because they only ever rape or engage in pedophilia when it's a woman's fault - that's the belief The Fetus©™ fetishists MASSIVELY support.

Update: From Slap Upside The Head: Pope: Gay Marriage “Insidious And Dangerous”

And also: Pure Hypocrisy - France Bédard, who was raped and repeatedly sexually abused by a priest when she was 17 and forced to work for the parish, was told by the vicar Armand Therrien to get an abortion and leave him the hell in peace, when she told him of her pregnancy. Criminal charges fell when Therrien died 2 weeks before the start of his trial for the years of abuse to which he had subjected her. After speaking to Ayatollah Ouellet about these events, Bédard was told that the Church could not help her, since the priest would not take responsibility for his actions. BTW, Bédard chose to carry the pregnancy to term, gave her son up for adoption and, decades later, was able to re-connect with him.

Sweet tap-dancing Baby Jay-Zeus: On Radio-Canada, Isabelle Bégin-O'Connor has just declared, presumably as some form of religious truthiness, that women who are raped almost never become pregnant because of the high stress level they endure. That must be so comforting to the hundreds of thousands of devout Catholic women who endured coercive marital sex for decades and yet became pregnant, to know that they are exceptional.

Where are The Fetus Fetishists? - Update

Where are R.E.A.L. Women of Canada? Why aren't they shrieeeking at Jason Kenney, for allowing this to happen?

A pregnant diabetic woman from Guinea was released from detention Monday and is now fighting to remain in the country on humanitarian grounds. [...]

Camara went into hiding to avoid the deportation, because she said if she's deported, she could lose her baby or face death. She's now facing a 2 p.m. flight Tuesday afternoon. [...] Camara left her homeland in 2006 after the death of her first husband. She said the man, who was much older and had two other wives, physically abused and raped her. "My former husband's family believes I was the cause of his death because I left the country after he died. I could be jailed in Guinea if I return."

She came to Canada, but was denied refugee status. A year later, she married Abdoul Sow, a marriage immigration officials contend was a sham.

She is 24 weeks pregnant, has Type 2 diabetes and had a miscarriage last year. Obstetricians in the high-risk pregnancy clinic where she is a patient say that she will not have access in Guinea to the kind of medical care she is receiving here. Her lawyer said her life and pregnancy are endangered if she is returned to Guinea. If she survives to give birth, her infant's life could also be at risk.

Oh. Wait. Sayon Camara is a Black women who can't vote. Why would a ReformaTory Minister, whose New™ MASSIVELY "accountable!" & "transparent!" government cut funding to shelters for women and children fleeing domestic violence, do anything to help her?

So much for
Stevie Spiteful's maternal health care initiative. Did anyone actually believe that his pious bleating was anything but a ploy to insert propaganda into the news cycle that the PMO tries to control?

Today's update. From Cyberpresse, the above photo from the couple's wedding as well as additional information regarding Immigration officials bias for contending their marriage is a 'sham'. Abdoul Sow went west for a few months, to find work in a better paid employment. Many men in Canada do the same - go to Alberta to earn money while living in substandard conditions in order to support their families. Given the housing situation in places like Fort McMurray, it doesn't make sense for the families to uproot themselves from their communities and following the main wage-earner.

Like a mouse attempting to give birth to an elephant ...

Someone in Harper's New™ MASSIVELY "accountable!" & "transparent!" government finally answered the question.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced late last year that Canada, as the host of the upcoming G8 meeting in June, would champion maternal and child health in developing countries. But until Monday no one in the government had disclosed whether abortion would be included.

Conservative MP Jim Abbott clarified the government's position in the House of Commons in response to a question from Bloc Québécois MP Johanne Deschamps.

"Canada's contribution to maternal and child health may include family planning," Abbott told the House. "However, Canada's contribution will not include funding abortion." Following Abbott's statement, Dimitri Soudas, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, confirmed Canada would not include any abortion funding for its G8 plan.

From here.

This of course followed months of obfuscation and hair-splitting from the ReformaTories about the real nature of their maternal health initiative. More from fern hill, blogging on the topic, here.

Is God being cruel to Scott Roeder?

After all, the murderous fetus fetishist claimed to have acted in His Name.

Alas, His servant is now serving time in jail and Roeder does not like it one bit; he has filed a complaint about his treatment there.  The news report is followed by comments such as:

On a certain level, I have compassion for any human being in prison. I would never wish prison rape or any of the other horrors of our American prisons visited on anyone, not even Roeder.

But I sure do not feel sorry for him now that the reality of life in prison has so thoroughly cleared his mind of the religious delusions.

I just want to say: Scott Roeder, you should have left "God's work" to him. God can manage his own universe without your help, thank you very much. If you had minded your own business, Dr. Tiller would still be alive - women would still be able to recieve the medical help they need - and you would still be free to roam happily about the country as a crazy person.

Too late now for regrets. Enjoy your new accomodations provided by the good citizens of the State of Kansas. And by the way, there are innocent people in prison who are doing their time like men, so sit down and shut up. You deserve to be there.

&

I wonder if he has ever stomped his way back to his cell, whining "I wish I'd never been born!"

How long will it take before Roeder starts trading information about the nature of the support his accomplices provided in the killing of Dr Tiller, in exchange for "better" treatment?

We do hope that the caged bird will sing - loudly.

Un grand merci to our regular reader Croghan for the tip.

Always Look On The (B)right Side of Life ....

No, this is not a YouTube in support of The Fetus©™ fetishists.

Writing about the Vatican Taliban, as I did in my previous post, always revs me up.

So, to put things in perspective and to cheer up the women who choose to stay in an abusive relationship with the patriarchs of the Church, here's the memorable closing song from Monty Python's 'The Life of Brian'.

Enjoy! And if you get an earworm, tough. There are worse things in life.

"Bring in the wedges, boys, and drive them hard."

Yet another revolting quote from the odious Mr 'Kicking Abortion's Ass', The Fetus©™ fetishizing, christofascist John "Sperm Holocaust" Pacheco.

The
story of Roxanne Fernando (the woman whose beating and murder - claimed by Rod Bruinooge to have inspired his private member's bill) is one that's familiar to feminists who led the fight to reform institutions and laws in order to protect battered women and their children from violent domestic partners.

And now the abortion criminalizers are playing this "opportunity", also known as the circumstances that led to the brutal slaying of Fernando, to re-introduce another bill to limit choice.

Notice how Harper's Con jobs never demand better laws to defend the right to safety and the right to life for women like
Joan Paget and Gail Saltel as well as their children? Strange how ReformaTories do not vigorously support shelters for the hundreds of Canadian women and children whose kidneys as well as their lives are not valued by rightwing, patriarcal religious zealots.

Un grand merci to
JJ, who provided the link to the FD thread and to the venal 'Paycheck' comment, typical of a certain kind of rightwing religious zealot male.

More propaganda from Blob Blogging Wingnut.

SUZY ALL-CAPS comes to the defense of the Vatican Taliban. Nothing new there. As a co-blogger remarked:
BBW has glommed onto the notion that many of the accusations of sex abuse are false and slanderous [...] That is no surprise coming from HER, as HER default position is to side with power, authority and orthodoxy.
"Won't somebody think of the poor maligned priests?" is the angle SHE exploits, opinionating that the Catholic Church hushed up all those MASSIVE accusations against pedophile clergy because some of them could be "false memories" or malicious slanders.

Here's a fact for you, SAINTE-NITOUCHE. For decades forensic scientists and legal scholars have been studying the incidence of people reporting crimes that have not actually occurred. Regardless of the nature of the alleged infraction (theft, vandalism, sexual assault, etc.) or the motivation (insurances scam, vengeance, etc.) the percentage of false accusations to crimes that are founded remains constant, in the 4-5% range. But don't let that get in the way of YOUR spinning in defense of those 95-96% of complaints against Catholic clergy who DID abuse and assault millions of children over the centuries.
'This is why the Church dealt with these issues in secret, but people don't get that.'
Suffering inflicted upon children is not YOUR cause, is it? YOUR overweening focus is fixated on the zygotes, the embryos and the fetuses, right?

Blog Blogging Wingnut links to this glurge and propaganda piece, published in the guise of a news item. The conclusion to this work of fiction offers the following: "Of the thousands of cases that I alone have worked on, there is one theme that rings through them all: The priest will continue to say, "I don't want to lose my priesthood, I just want to be able to say the Mass!"

Oh really? Then why are most of the accused re-assigned to pastoral work, despite warnings from medical authorities who treated them for their mental afflictions and pedophile urges?

Un grand merci to brebis noire who tipped us off to this despicable propaganda.

Blob Blogging Wingnut is envious.

Over at The House of Perpetual Jeremiahs and Glossy Fetal Pix, also known as Blog Blogging Wingnut's site, SHE bemoans the fact that the PMO's bright shiny idea to use YouTube to create some sort of virtual flash mob has been
"hijacked by a bunch of pothead activists. And when I say "hijacked" I don't mean that they submitted a question that on an issue that many people don't care about. I mean that they've submitted dozens, if not hundreds, of questions on that issue, ruining through spamination an exercise that could have been a good step towards democracy. I don't object to the fact that 1500 people have voted in favour of asking a question regarding marijuana. I object to the top 3 questions all having to do with marijuana."

eh. SUZY ALL-CAPS is clearly envious that The Fetus©™ fetishists have not managed to MASSIVELY own the process like the potheads have successfully done. But for those 7 or 8 people that might be reading her blogsite, SHE counsels:
"And if you do submit a question, please don't submit a question that sounds like something that came out of question period. E.G. 'Your government is the most incomptent in history and has never cared about the true interests of Canadians, what are you prepared to do to fight poverty in this country.' That's just a repeat of QP. Please ask for specific details and not engage in ideological and partisan posturing."

Hear that? Do not engage in ideological and partisan posturing. I guess HER good friend John 'Sperm Holocaust' Pacheco didn't get that memo.

Recent research proves zygote zealots are wrong - again.

Remember those religious extremist fetishists of The Fetus©™ who shrieeeked: The Pill Kills!!!

These rightwing fundamentalists, for example?

According to a study just published in the British Medical Journal it seems that The Pill actually saves women's lives:

Those who had used the contraceptive were less likely to die from a range of diseases, including heart disease and cancer, researchers found. Overall, the drugs cut the risk of death from bowel cancer by 38 per cent and from any cause by around 12 per cent.

The findings will be reassuring for millions of women who are taking or have taken the Pill, following a number of health scares, according to experts from the University of Aberdeen, who carried out the study.

Although there was small increased risk of death among women under 45 taking the Pill, in part because of the well-known increased chance of suffering a blood clot, that effect disappeared after around 10 years. And the health benefits to women as they got older more than offset the risks to under 45s, the researchers said.

Introduced in 1961, and initially for married women only, around three million women in Britain are now thought to take the Pill regularly to prevent unwanted pregnancy. [...]

Dr Alison Ross, from Cancer Research UK, said: “This large study should help to reassure women that on average, the long-term benefits of taking the Pill, including lower odds of dying from cancer, outweigh the risks. "We still need more research to understand how the balance of risks and benefits might change in specific groups of people taking the current versions of the Pill. "Even so, it is encouraging to see that using the Pill appears to substantially lower the risk of dying from bowel, womb and ovarian cancers.”

As well, women who used this contraceptive avoided dying from health complications arising from pregnancy.

Grand merci to Croghan who brought this news item to my attention.

Men impregnating women against their will?

According to a recent report, 25% in a group of female patients surveyed said they had experienced "reproductive coercion". This percentage may be higher or lower in other communities.

The research report, “Pregnancy coercion, intimate partner violence and unintended pregnancy,” highlights a phenomenon we labeled reproductive coercion to describe explicit male behaviors to promote pregnancy. Particularly for women with a history of partner violence, these behaviors are significantly linked with unintended pregnancy.

Such reproductive coercion takes many forms, but frequently involves a male partner’s direct interference with a woman’s use of contraception (‘birth control sabotage’). It includes removing condoms during sex to get her pregnant, intentional breaking of condoms, and preventing her from taking birth control pills.

SUZY ALL-CAPS would probably justify their actions in a number of ways.

  1. It's for women's own good. If God gave them wombs, He wants them to breed.

  2. The Pill Kills!!! It's heroic to replace oral contraceptives with fakes or to flush them.

  3. Condoms Kill!!! Won't someone think about the sperm Holocaust?

  4. Women Lie!!! They say their husbands or lovers sabotaged their birth control but can we really trust what they say? After all, those murderous sluts enjoy having abortions.

  5. A whole bunch of religious celibate men (also known as the Vatican Taliban) don't believe in contraception. Get with the program.
That's probably how Blob Blogging Wingnut - The Queen of The Fetus©™ Fetishists - would defend their behaviour.

more MASSIVE lies?

Why are rightwing and religiously deranged zealots massively bent towards the qualifier MASSIVE?

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a quote widely attributed to P. T. Barnum, a US showman and erstwhile politician who perfected in the 19th century many marketing and public relations tactics that survive to this day. In fact, one might say that Karl Rove and his acolytes have taken the basic three-ring circus leitmotif "More, more, more!" to nausea-inducing depths.

Which is probably why this nugget of faux-journalism from Lies-Site abounds with the adjective massive. (Our emphasis.)

The flow of medical supplies waiting to be distributed to tens of thousands of earthquake victims in Haiti was delayed for weeks by a massive supply of condoms dominating the space of the main storage facility there, an eyewitness with insider information has told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN).

The central pharmaceutical supply center, known as PROMESS (Program on Essential Medicine and Supplies), is home to the operations of the World Health Organization (WHO)/Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in the area. "Without PROMESS we would have had a second catastrophe," Dr. Alex Larsen, Haitian Minister of Health, said at the PROMESS warehouse recently.

However, the glut of condoms at that same warehouse delayed the massive influx of aid pouring in from around the world, according to an inside source, and may have cost lives. The source reported that shipping containers of medical supplies were unable to be unloaded, sorted and distributed since an enormous supply of condoms clogged the facility till early February, when the condoms could be removed. The condoms were estimated to take up about 70% of the space in the 17,000 sq. ft. warehouse. [...]

Nicholas Reader of the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said he was "not aware" of the problem, and directed LSN to the World Health Organization for more information. Paul Garwood, the communications officer for emergencies and humanitarian affairs at the World Health Organization, also said he was unaware of the issue. Garwood forwarded the request to colleagues in Haiti, who have not responded as of press time. While WHO officials are not speaking specifically about the condom clog, they have in more general terms admitted logistical hardships in dealing with the influx of supplies.

"Trying to both respond to the massive health needs in Haiti following the quake and organize the large volume of supplies entering the country has been a great challenge," according to WHO/PAHO representative in Haiti, Dr Henriette Chamouillet.

The scenario of medical supply buildings in the developing world taken up mostly by condoms and severely lacking in health care supplies is not new. [...]

The United Nations strategy of massive promotion of condoms as the primary solution to the AIDS crisis is reflected even in recent
reports, with no sign of letting up.

For cultures which value life, and family, the condom push into their cultures is highly offensive. Carol Ugochukwu, President of United Families of Africa in Enugu, Nigeria, commented in a 2000 interview noting that Western delegations at the United Nations were trying to "exterminate the whole race" with their promotion of condoms.

Strange how that "anonymous inside source" has no official credentials, except possibly those of a card-carrying christofascist member of the Catholic Church, like SoWrongOrNutz and Blob Blogging Wingnut. And interesting how nobody could be located to substantiate the LSN claim.

There were many outrageous delays in getting the physical resources, the appropriate provisions and humanitarian aid in time to save the hundreds of lives lost under destroyed buildings and from the lack of timely medical interventions and potable water supplies. But the odious bias and distortions on display in this piece of propaganda about the conditions in Haïti is exemplary.

Lies-Site should be given the P. T. Barnum award for finding an original way to spin the same-old Vatican Taliban anti-condom screed by exploiting the human tragedy in Haïti.

Attention SUZY ALL-CAPS: your panties are on fire – again.

Sadly, not in any good (or bad-girl) way.

Blob Blogging Wingnut often screeches about feminists who don’t and won’t use the vocabulary employed by The Fetus©™ fetishists in their propaganda. SHE believes that’s a reveal and SHE claims “the refusal to use plain language, the substitution of euphemisms and rhetorical evasions, is an infallible indicator that a speaker or writer feels uncomfortable with the truth”.

Anti-abortionists like SUZY ALL-CAPS believe that their truthiness is the same as the facts.

Those who don’t share HER beliefs know HER claim about feminists is pro-lie truthiness. Consider the following words.

Egg. Sperm. Fertilization. Zygote. Embryo. Fetus.

Spontaneous abortion. Miscarriage.

Unwanted pregnancy. Voluntary termination.

Desired pregnancy. Expectant mother-to-be.

Giving life. Giving birth.

Premature labour. Death in childbirth.

Is that language plain enough for you, SUZY? Those are objective terms that describe clearly the possibilities that potentially fertile women face.

Feminists deal honestly with these plain truths and realities. We don’t gloss over them or pretend they don’t exist.

SAINTE-NITOUCHE – like other pious women – has chosen the comfort of religious doctrines that control HER reproductive potential and choices. Yes, choices. Even though SHE wants other women to be deprived of the right to self-determination. If HER religious beliefs regarding abortion are as universal as SHE maintains, why not leave it to whatever cosmic deity that may (or not) exist to pronounce judgment?

Feminists challenge the domination of religious dogma, whether judaic, christian or islamic and their gynophobic tenets.

Yet Blob Blogging Wingnut blathers on, determined to “prove” that white is black and up is down.

“Feminists don't really support abortion as a means to save women from childbirth. After all, childbirth has been rendered pretty safe in this day and age.

They just want abortion, period. Regardless of whether it reduces maternal mortality or not.”

There are 4 untruths in those four sentences from SUZY ALL-CAPS. All are predicated on her belief that abortion is an abhorrent and universally evil intervention. Thus anyone who supports access to evil is also abhorrent and evil. In her view, there is no justification for abortion, but any tactic that enforces pregnancy from fertilization to birth is justifiable.

Antonia Zerbisias debunked the misleading interpretations that The Fetus©™ fetishists have concocted in response to research produced by World Economic Forum's recently released Global Gender Gap Report. This makes her the target of attacks by the religiously deranged – such as Blob Blogging Wingnut.

Pregnancy can be fraught with complications ranging from problems with fetal development to medical conditions triggered by the reproductive process. Sometimes unexpected events that occur during labour are life-threatening.

Pregnancy, labour and childbirth have been rendered “pretty safe”? The term “pretty safe” is not a valid scientific observation. There are a number of women for whom pregnancy is not “pretty safe” in Canada and in other countries. Using this expression is cruel, ignorant and a deliberate obfuscation of current trends with respect to women’s reproductive health.
