Lying Contempt Party and its Ministers

When was the last time you saw a recruitment ad on television for the Canadian Armed Forces? This one for example:

Did that get you all teary-eyed and choked-up, thinking about our military women and men are there for Canadians during catastrophic situations?

Fight Distress! Fight Chaos!

Like everything else the Contempt Party proclaims, the above is a crock.

The adulterer Vic Toews, shot down expectations that military resources can be deployed to alleviate the distress and chaos caused by flooding in the Montérégie.
The government letter signed by Toews [...] the services you're asking for -- if they were authorized -- would place the Canadian Forces in competition with the private sector, at the local or provincial level, which could perform this type of repair work."
Shouldn't SHitehead's Stooge Minister of Disinformation stop pretending that our Canadian troops have any use other than getting shipped overseas to get slaughtered in support of multinational corporate interests?

The lot over at Galloping Beaver have been gnawing on this as well. It seems the 'conflict' is over utilizing the CF for 'cleanup' after a disaster passes.

Until it isn't.

What they find interesting is that it wasn't the Minister of Military Thingies that said this, and it wasn't even passed on to him and his department to decide/pronounce.

Myself, I wonder about mercantiling 'clean-ups' where the infrastructure of a locale has been effectively wiped out, access is a safety project and boundaries of authority are crossed. What 'disaster clean-up' for profit companies are there that have engineers, logistics planners who were on the ground during the disaster, rough terrain vehicles and are willing to move into a territory where monies (from whom?) are not firmly contracted ahead of time?

I don't believe the locales asking for mil-assist in recovery mode are wanting the soldiers to replant flower beds. Maybe remove huge sandbag wall dykes so access can be gained to a lot of closed off areas also buried in mud and tangled debris, but hey, way to go Feds when it comes to highly stressed people. Toews made sure it looks like this comes directly from the PMO.

Are we to expect a declaration that the province and Feds won't be donating Canadian tax monies to the disaster zones but waiting on banks to make loans to the affected?

Don't give them ideas, Niles.

Water levels in some areas to return to record heights by Sunday with high winds to boot. This is the end of the 5th week, and 100-150 people EACH DAY are being seen by mental health workers.
