Another Cherry Busted . . .

Well, I suppose it had to happen someday.

Today, I was on the streetcar after rush hour but it was pretty crowded. Not jammed, but crowded. I had just got on, struggled to find a standing spot, and was standing, when a young seated woman looked up at me, smiled, and said: 'Would you like to sit?'

'No, I'm fine, thank you,' I replied from between what I hope were not terribly clenched teeth.

It is now official. I am old ass.

LOL!
Not that I should be laughing, it's probably happened to me already but I just couldn't hear what they were saying.

You know, because everyone mumbles these days :|

LOL. Oh shoot, if the offer had come from a young, hugely pregnant woman carrying three bags of groceries, then I'd worry ;) As long as someone is respectful, I'll take it, but I have gray hair and figure I've earned the subservience of the little whipper-snappers, by cracky!

I have a friend who got completely and utterly beside herself when she was around 30 and a young male store clerk called her "ma'am." I never did get a straight answer on how she thought he should have addressed her... "Hey chickie," or "Yo, mama!" or what?

LOL! Sorry, it's hard not to laugh. It happens to the best of us.

eh. I have female friends who get called "sir" - most laugh at that.

Yeah, yeah.

The real piss-off is I do not have grey hair. Just a few. And I take crap from my contemporaries about that.

And you guys can stop with the LOL (Little Old Lady) snark. ;)

In your honour, I just went outside and yelled at some young whippersnapper to get off my lawn.

Unfortunately, when I put my "specs" on I realized I was yelling at my dog.

D'oh!

This has been happening to me for years. It helps to glower at them when they're sitting.

At which point, Fern, I believe the correct response is to sweetly smile assent and firmly sit down on her lap.

Hey grils, sannual 40 days of hate alert. Why don't you have a bubble zone yet? The G20 got one.

For some reason, Alison's link doesn't work. Try this.

No bubbles or fencing, just tin foil. I can attest to the fact fern hill has hers firmly fastened at all times.

Sadly, it doesn't appear to protect her from the oppressive concerns of young streetcar-riding whippersnappers.

Enter the Red Rocket - Enter the Twilight Zone.

Odd stuff happens on streetcars. That's why they're fun to ride.

So some whiffet offered up her seat - who the hell knows what she was thinking...anyhow, thanks for sharing!
