There's one word for this: surreal.

An Army of God manual. A prison cookbook compiled by a woman doing time for abortion clinic bombings and arsons. An autographed bullhorn.

These are among the items that abortion foes plan to auction on eBay and other Web sites in a fundraiser for Scott Roeder, the Kansas City man charged with killing Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller.

“This is unique,” said Regina Dinwiddie, a Kansas City anti-abortion activist who will sign the bullhorn. “Nobody’s ever done this before. The goal is that everybody makes money for Scott Roeder’s defense.”

One abortion-rights leader called the auction deplorable and said it could lead to more violence.

“The network of extremists promoting and defending the murder of doctors is contributing to escalating threats against clinics and doctors across the country,” said Kathy Spillar, executive vice president of the Feminist Majority Foundation.

These twisted fetishes represent a veritable Who's Who of the anti-abortion terrorists who enabled the assassination of Dr George Tiller.

The Army of God manual is a handbook on tactics to shut women's clinics down, including bomb recipes, donated by Dave Leach, who reprinted the 'underground' manual in 1996.

The prison cookbook's author is Shelly Shannon, in prison until at least 2018, for shooting Dr. Tiller in both arms in 1993.

And there will be other items associated with other 'heros' of the anti-abortion terrorism gang.

Dinwiddie is a friend of Roeder. She also was a friend of Paul Hill, who shot an abortion doctor and his escort to death in Pensacola, Fla., in 1994. Hill received a death sentence for the killings and was executed in 2003.

“Regina is digging out her old VHS tapes of Paul Hill in her home praying before Shelley’s trial,” Leach said. “She wants to start that one off at $500.”

The bullhorn autographed by Dinwiddie is similar to those she used when protesting outside abortion clinics.

The money raised will go to Roeder's defense. Roeder is pretty thrilled about it, having been thrown under the bus by another prominent gang of terrorists, Operation Scumbag Rescue.

“I think it’s great,” he said. “I appreciate all of the efforts going into that. I’m all for anything that might bring some donations in.”

I have some thoughts about other items that might fetch a few dineros from the demented.

How about some fake anthrax letters identified by the FBI as coming from Army of God members?

Maybe some good old-timey 'Wanted' posters featuring abortion-providers?

And, to go with that bullhorn, a blood-stained autographed copy of this:



written by the cheerleader-in-chief for Dr Tiller's assassination.

The US Department of Justice, using the search string 'army of god kill dr carhart'.

If I were a prayin' woman. . .

I'd be praying for Dr LeRoy Carhart. A few days ago, JJ, the unrepentant old hippie, blogged about Dr Carhart, a very brave man.

Well, it seems he'll have to be even braver. Inscrutably, his protection by federal marshalls has been withdrawn.

Despite mounting threats to the clinic--and potentially to the life--of Nebraska Dr. Leroy Carhart, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has removed the federal marshals earlier charged with protecting him.

Dr. Carhart lost his federal marshal protection two weeks ago, much to the alarm of pro-choice leaders, leaving him vulnerable at a time when anti-choice violence has been escalating across the country, and when Carhart himself has been openly targeted by groups such as Operation Rescue, which is calling for protests at his clinic later this month. In addition, members of the Army of God, an organization that promotes the use of violence against providers of abortion care, and glorifies those who commit acts of murder, are also targetting Dr. Carhart.

Women's rights and health groups are now working strenuously to ensure that the DOJ restores protection by federal marshals for Dr. Carhart and to urge the DOJ and the FBI to investigate Tiller's murder and other strategies used by these groups as part of a pattern of domestic terrorism.

Officials at the Department of Justice could not be reached for comment this weekend. RH Reality Check will be following up with them on Monday, August 10th.

Just WTF are they thinking? Dr Carhart is Operation Scumbag's target, just like, exactly like Dr. Tiller was.

And as the volume of nuttiness and the threats of violence are rising even higher in the Excited States, they withdraw his protection???!!!!! Now????!!!!

Mentally Ill Man Celebrated by Anti-Choice Terrorists

Well, well, well. A famous Canadian FETUSBLOGGER (I won't link, but JJ did), among other sick and twisted anti-choicers, is celebrating the deaths of a bunch of people, including children, who were related to the owner of abortion clinics. In the comments there, there's talk of how we normal people think fetus fetishists are dangerous and violent. Because we want to think so, SHE says.

Um. No. Because of stories like this.

The Cottage Grove man who crashed his car into a St. Paul Planned Parenthood clinic on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling is being touted as a hero of the militant anti-abortion movement.

Matthew Lee Derosia, 33, is among several "prisoners of Christ" featured on the Web site of the group Army of God, which advocates violence to stop abortion providers.

Derosia pleaded guilty Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court to a felony charge of first-degree damage to property. A second charge is expected to be dropped at sentencing.

"Matthew Derosia rammed the babykilling abortion mill twice and then got out and quoted verses from the Holy Bible ... (on) the date when babykilling was made legal nationally," the Army of God Web site says.

" 'Jesus told me to do it' said Matthew (and who am I to dispute that)," said a comment apparently written by the Web site's host, anti-abortion activist the Rev. Donald Spitz.

The abortion-rights group National Abortion Federation describes the Army of God as "an underground network of domestic terrorists."

He will be sentenced on May 12.

The terms of the plea agreement, assuming it is approved by Judge John Van de North, include a maximum of 100 days in jail. He is being held at the Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center for the mentally ill.

"I think he's doing better," said his attorney, Tom Handley. "He's on medication."

OK, the man has a history of mental illness, but dig this from his mother:

She criticized Planned Parenthood officials, saying they were "after him."

"There's just so much hate for him from these people ... there's nothing godly about them," she said. "There's no air of forgiveness. They're just hard-core, pound-of-flesh."

Who's seeing hate? These people are incredible.
