The New York Times says yes.
Prosecutors said the suspect, who is 33, singled out Mr. Pouillon because he disapproved of the victim’s protests in front of children at the school.
“There was some displeasure with how open he was,” said Sara Edwards, the chief assistant prosecutor for Shiawassee County. “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”
But AP in a story posted just over half an hour ago says not.
Although authorities didn't specifically say that Pouillon was targeted for his anti-abortion views, his death was the latest high-profile shooting of a person involved in the abortion debate. On May 31, abortion provider George Tiller was shot to death in his Kansas church.
I want to hear from the man in custody himself or his lawyer speaking for him.

It sounds like someone just went nuts and decided to shoot people who've pissed him off, for any reason. His 3rd intended victim was a realtor.
This wasn't a political killing at all... just someone went postal.
