Defund Abortion: 95% Less MASSIVE!

So, how did the promised MASSIVER second annual defund abortion bunfest turn out today at Queen's Park?

You be the judge.

First (and only?) report:
Despite wind, sleet, and temperatures of minus six, more than 350 people attended the Defund Abortion Rally organized by Campaign Life Coalition Youth at Queen’s Park on March 19.

While the crowd was small at the start of the noon-hour event, causing concern among organizers, it quickly grew during the presentations of the first two speakers.
That must be something of a letdown after last year's MASSIVE showing.
TORONTO, Ontario, October 24, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Over 2,000 pro-life Ontarians stormed Queen’s Park on Saturday, calling on the province’s politicians to ‘Defund abortion!’
. . .
The crowd, estimated at 2,300 by CLC national president Jim Hughes, called on Queen’s Park to drop abortion from the list of procedures covered by provincial tax dollars.

'Stormed' might have been a better verb for this year's -- actually last year's -- event. It was originally scheduled for just after the expected landslide win for Tim Hudork as premier. Hm. Hurricane Sandy caused the postponement of that jollification. (Though the people of Ontario kinda had a hand in it by rejecting the Hudork as just too creepy.)

And at the rescheduled event, bad weather may have delayed or cancelled the battalions of Catlick school kids on buses.

It is a cruel gawd they worship, isn't it?

Or maybe She's not and She's trying to tell them something.

ADDED: Joyce Arthur provides the talking points for fully funding abortion.

UPDATE: Oh dear. From fetus fetishist friendly Stun News a different number of ralliers.
Around 200 pro-life advocates gathered around noon as part of a two-hour demonstration organized by the anti-abortion group, Campaign Life Coalition.
Not 350? The organizers lied inflated the count by 75%? Say it ain't so.

Condemn, Then Defund

In this tweet, the agenda behind Warawa's Wank, aka Motion 408, a private member's bill to keep the abortion issue on the bubble, is revealed.

Condemn, then defund.

The Australian legislator sounds about as dim as our own Fetus Lobby®.
THE Democratic Labor Party senator John Madigan will introduce on Wednesday a private members' bill seeking to remove Medicare funding for abortions ''procured on the basis of gender selection''.

Senator Madigan, who could hold a balance of power vote in the Senate after the September election, said he would ''seek support from other politicians who are on the record as being pro-life''.

He said he had ''seen data that abortion on the basis of gender selection is happening overseas and that means it is likely to be happening here'' although he conceded it was ''difficult to get Australian data'' on the issue.
Doesn't know if it is happening, but it's 'likely'. So let's be prepared and defund it now.

How, exactly, abortions could be defunded for one reason and not for others is of course not spelled out.

That revealing tweet is from Jack Fonseca, who describes himself as 'Pro-life activist, Project Manager at Campaign Life Coalition, political observer'.

And yes, it is Campaign Life Coalition behind the Defund Abortion Rally, now scheduled for maximum Catholic school kid participation on Tuesday, March 19.

Count on it. If the meaningless motion passes, bleating about 'Canadians want us to ACT on this' will commence.

We Agree: Defund!

Zygote zealots in Ontario are planning a repeat of last year's MASSIVE Defund Abortion Rally, but even MASSIVER this time.

Today, Campaign Lie held a presser at Queen's Park, sponsored by CON MPPs Rick Nicholls, John O’Toole, and Randy Hillier, who unaccountably did NOT show their support in person.

So, the old CON abortion peekaboo begins again.
Conservative Leader Tim Hudak admitted* last year that he had signed an anti-abortion petition in the past, but said he had no plans to re-open the debate if he becomes premier.
No, no, no, we are not reopening the abortion debate. It's those pesky fetus fetishizing independent-minded MPPs.
PC Finance Critic MPP Peter Shurman says as far as he's concerned, the abortion debate at the provincial level is closed. He says this doesn't say anything about the Tories being able to reign in members, noting there are 36 MPPs with minds of their own.
Now you see them, now you don't.

Mini-rallies will be held this Saturday, October 13, at 41 'randomly selected' MPP offices. All the party leaders will get a visit.

The MASSIVE rally at Queen's Park is scheduled for a Tuesday (October 30), so busloads of Catlick kids can get an educational outing at taxpayer expense.

I'd really like to see whatever media coverage the MASSIVE event gets to focus on that. A poll from June this year showed that a majority -- 53% of all Ontarians and 58% of CON supporters -- oppose public funding of Vatican Taliban schools.

That's the MASSIVE misuse of taxpayer money that deserves attention.

DJ! is totally behind that defunding effort.

* Hudak 'admitted' to it only after a old link to dominionist ARPA's rating of CON leadership candidates was discovered. Oddly, the link to the ARPA article is now dead.

We Got Rallies, Mini-Rallies, MASSIVE Rallies, All Kindsa Rallies

Fall is a busy time for fetus fetishists and this year even more so.

First up, the second hour of debate and vote on Woody's Wank tomorrow (Sept. 21) and Wednesday (Sept. 26) respectively. (Note Kady O'Malley will be live blogging/tweeting the debate starting at 1:30.)

Also on September 26, the annual 40 Days of Harassment begins.

And in Ontario there will be a repeat of last year's Defund Abortion Rally that was sadly marred by the absence of Premier Tim ('I Will Defund Abortion') Hudak.

This year's Defund Rally, sponsored again by Campaign Lie, will be bigger and better. Of course.

They've done more preparation.
Since CLC Youth’s major Defund Abortion Campaign kicking-off last fall with a rally at Queens Park, we have been busy at work setting the framework for success. Since then, over 40,000 pamphlets have been delivered by constituents in ridings across the province, over 23,000 signatures have been collected for our petition in every riding across the province, and various members of provincial parliament have been visited by their constituents. Various MPPs are becoming increasingly sympathetic to our cause, with some even interested in taking this initiative further in Queens Park.

They've also added mini (ha) rallies at MPPs' constituency offices.
“This year we are kicking it up a notch. In addition to holding a massive rally at Queens Park like we did in 2011, we have also added a local element for 2012 with ‘mini-rallies’ across Ontario. These rallies will all happen on the same day, at the same time, to maximize the sheer awesomeness of this event,” said organizer Alissa Golob, coordinator for Campaign Life Coalition Youth.
Awesomeness? Sheer awesomeness? OK, then.

(Aside: How MASSIVE was last year's rally? Jim Hughes, Campaign Lie prez, personally counted each ff and came up with 2,300. Mind, this is the same guy who personally counted each ff at last May's March of the Feti and came up with 20,000 participants, when the highest any reputable source would go is 15,000, with most of the others citing numbers around 10,000. So, doing the lyingliar math, I'd guess there were maybe a thousand last year.)

I'm eagerly anticipating the annual push-poll they put out just before the shindig, for which they deploy more lyingliar math to assert that EVERYBODY, except Feminazis of course, supports defunding abortion.

This is the poll question that works best for fetus fetishists. While Canadians are stoutly prochoice, opinions on abortion funding split better for them. This poll from August 2010 finds that 39% support funding only in emergencies, while 44% support funding whenever.

The dates are interesting too, aren't they? Saturday for mini-rallies but Tuesday for the MASSIVE rally. Busses for Catlick school (funded by all Ontarians) kids are being chartered as we speak.

The irony of using tax-payer funding, a practice that 53% of Ontarians oppose, to protest tax-payer funding for something that 83% of Ontarians support -- at least in some circumstances -- doesn't seem to impinge on them.

One of the yuckiest features of this effort is the logo. A heart with toes? TOES? Are they promoting birth defects?

(Rats. I tried to enlarge it and Blogger wouldn't upload. I need to get better at this bloggery stuff.)

Anyway, I'm thinking I'll mosey over to my MPP's office to see for myself how 'mini' the mini-rally will be. If you have a mind to do the same, you can find addresses here.

The fun just never stops in FetusFetishistLand, does it?
