Canadian Taxpayers Subsidize Priests for Life

There are many whackadoodles among the fetus fetishist set, but Frank Pavone of Priests for Life is one of the whackier.

He was one of the vultures hanging around not-quite-dead Terri Shiavo and practically did a jig when Dr. Tiller was assassinated.

He's been in trouble with his titular bosses, the Catlick Church, for among other things, financial improprieties.

But just before The Tragedy, he outdid himself.
Ahead of Tuesday’s presidential election, the Rev. Frank Pavone took an aborted fetus, laid it upon an altar Sunday and posted a live video on Facebook. Pavone, a Catholic priest who heads New York-based Priests for Life, said the fetus was entrusted to him by a pathologist for burial.
There's a five-minute clip of the video here.

Not knowing anything about things sacred or profane, I was simply appalled at the disrespect and well, just plain tackiness. But it's worse than that to Catlicks. It was sacrilege.

Okey-dokey.

Why am I going on about this? Because you, dear readers, and I have given these offensive nutbars more than $75K over the last five years.

Here are Priests for Life Canada's Canada Revenue Agency filings.

Look at that nice acid green. That's us. (Graph from 2015 filing.)

From 2011 to 2015, Priests for Life in 11 constituencies (one in Alberta, ten in Ontario) applied for and received $76,784 in funding from Employment and Social Development Canada under the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Here's the listing for Ontario. Irritatingly, they list grants by province and riding.

On their CRA filing, Priests for Life specify their purpose as running convents and monasteries.

So, why the fuck are they hiring kids? And what the fuck kind of "meaningful work experience" do the kids get? And why the fuck are we paying for it?

From the eligibility page of the program.
The job must provide meaningful work experience for the student. It must not contribute to the provision of a personal service to the employer (e.g. the job must not involve gardening, domestic services, child care services, etc., for the employer).
I've been feeling pretty helpless these past ten days, but this I can do something about.

UPDATE (November 25/16): Patricia Maloney, aka the Amateur Statistician, commented. Says Priests for Life Canada is totally different from Pavone's gang. Yeah. Except for the shared name and goals and the fact that one gets to the Canadian outfit through a link called "International" on the US site.

All of which does not matter much. Because the fact remains that Canadian taxpayers are being scammed by eleven different branches of this misogynist "charity" for five years that we know of. For a total of more than $76K.

The Cdn gang furiously back-pedalled away from Pavone's dead-fetus-on-the-altar stunt. Not because they were disgusted, but because it was a big no-no to the sky fairy. Or something.

Who cares? I care about the money, the lies, and the misogyny.

Rosemary's Baby Redux

Nutbar/embezzler/fetus fetishist Frank Pavone tweeted this today.

Initiallly, I didn't realize whose handiwork it was so I asked.

Co-blogger Niles replied.

By then I had found out that it was Father Nutbar and revealed that info.

To which Niles replied: "So, I was right."

Fetus fetishists live in an alternate reality where they think this ridiculous stuff is compelling.

And idiocies like this.

Luckily for us sane people, it has no currency outside their tiny base.

And it is wonderfully fun to mock.

BTW, I like the devil's mani.

Upgrading 'Baby Killers'

While #FetusLobby foot-soldiers regularly SHRIIIEEEEK lovely epithets like 'baby killer' at women entering clinics and some go even further, rasping out death threats at pro-choice pregnant women, the honchos of the obsession movement prefer to pretend they are all about the poor deluded, coerced, mentally unfit, misinformed women.

Frank Pavone, the ethically challenged Catlick priest, continues the charade in his latest hand-wringer.
Question: “When abortion becomes illegal again, are we going to start throwing all the women who have abortions into jail?”

Answer: No. The people who should go to jail in that case are the abortionists.

Butbutbut, isn't that giving the sluts and skanks a free pass?

No. The sluts and skanks are needed to testify against the abortionists.
Moreover, the woman who gets an illegal abortion is the best source of information and evidence needed to convict the abortionist. If she feared prosecution, she would never admit to the abortion, which would make it harder to find the abortionist.

Butbutbut, what about the sluts and skanks themselves?

Ah, the true misogynist colours come peeping out.
This doesn’t excuse the woman’s wrongdoing; rather, it is the same principle by which the state grants immunity to a small-time drug user in exchange for information leading to a big-time drug dealer.

There you have it. Women who have abortions are murderers, unless they turn their doctors in, then they're upgraded to mere 'small-time drug users'.

But fear not, #FetusLobby. Those sluts and skanks won't get away with it in HarperLand at least.

Works for me. . .

From Joe. My. God.:
If you know the name Father Frank Pavone, it's probably from when he infested our television screens every night as the "spiritual adviser" and "Godly spokesman" for the comatose Terry Shiavo. Following that bit of limelight hogging, Pavone recast himself as the nation's most virulent Catholic in the battle against abortion rights, often appearing shoulder-to-shoulder with the murderous loons of Operation Rescue. (Pavone is "credited" by some for the idea of waving placards featuring bloody dismembered fetuses.)

Pavone is now the national director for Priests For Life, an anti-abortion group with a reported annual donation base in excess of ten million dollars. And whoopsie, his bishop just suspended him for (among other things) suspected financial "mismanagement" of those millions.

This story broke a few days ago and I've been amusing myself twitting the twits who are defending him, thus:
What a relief! Anti-choice priest goes down for $$ foolery. #MakesAChangeFromChildRape #prochoice

At LifeShite all the usual suspects are issuing statements of support.

Some groups are going further.
The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform* recently announced that the group will be picketing “Catholic facilities and activities in the Diocese of Amarillo, Texas.” The anti-abortion group wants to force Bishop Patrick Zurek to allow Father Frank Pavone “to resume full-time anti-abortion ministry.” Zurek recently suspended Priests for Life leader Frank Pavone for “concerns about financial improprieties.”

Hee. Nutbars protesting nutbars. Give 'em a taste of their own medicine. And leave women and abortion providers alone. At least for a while.
