Eye-Opener

My sweetie was out for drinks with some people from work last night. Young, not very political people, but lard knows he tries.

So, he dropped the fact that Hudak would defund abortion into the convo.

Of the four young women present, two didn't hear, didn't understand, or didn't react. The other two, however, goggled. Too young to remember the battles here in Canada and not paying attention to the War on Women going on in the Excited States, they were shocked at the very notion.

It had never crossed their minds that such a thing could happen.

And there you have it, fans of human rights. This is what we need to be pointing out to our young friends and acquaintances. Early and often.

Hudak has to lose.

ADDED July 17: Brian Lilley helps spread the news. Um, like, Brian, you weren't going to vote Conservative until you read that?

A couple of well-placed attack ads wouldn't be a bad thing.

I agree Dr. Dawg. But I have to say, many of the young women I encounter in this day and age, seem to be a bit of a throwback to the 1950s. It's kind of depressing to see this.

To the point of being pro-life, BY?

Maybe their lack of comprehension or shock at the crazy notion that abortion could be defunded or become illegal actually bodes well for keeping it legal and insured. As long as they go out and vote of course.

Maybe not rabid anti-abortion ck, but definitely falling on a spectrum between Elizabeth May's "nuanced" views and Margaret Sommerville's "intellectualized" babble.

Well, you should read your own article.

Those that should care about this issue, do not. The 'youth' are not up in arms about this.

This could back fire on you: get the pro-life people all sending in money, working on campaigns, and working on their immediate circles.

But then again, when you have a master of politics like Warren behind the issue, how can you go wrong?

Tally Ho!

I approved that. But I have no idea what s/he's on about.

Clue-bats welcome.

He's a right-wing "humour" blogger, but wingers don't know from funny---they confuse it with sadism. Humour is more a daughter of Envy than it is of Greed.

He's trying to tell you that bringing abortion into it will bring his kindred out to vote for Hudak, but won't bring the complacent young into vote against Hudak.

This is Real True Concern-Trollery.
