Ralph Lang, 63, of Marshfield, was staying at a Motel 6 when his .38-caliber handgun discharged into an unoccupied room across the hall, according to the federal criminal complaint. Madison police were called after Lang told a motel clerk that the gun went off, and he was worried that the bullet might have hit someone.
Lang, who was arrested for reckless endangerment, told police that he had a gun "to lay out abortionists because they are killing babies," the complaint said.
. . . .
In Lang's motel room, officers found a U.S. map with dots in each state and handwritten words above the northern U.S. border that said "some abortion centers," the complaint said. Also written on the map were the words "Blessed Virgin Mary says Hell awaits any woman having an abortion. Nurse or doctor who helps will one (sic)."
Worried that he was going to shoot somebody ^NOT an abortion provider. Good citizen, eh?
Fetus fetishists are scuttling backwards expressing shock, SHOCK I tell you.
I wanna know more about his
More details on Lang's not-too-swift plan.

See, *this* is taking the name of God in vain. This is using God for one's own purposes. It's sickening.
p.s. The word verification was "verypoot" which cracks me the fuck up because 'poot' is what my son calls feces. :)
Now now. This guy is just an extremist, fern hill, just like all those pro-choice extremi-- oh, wait...
Luna, around here we call farts "poots" ;-)
What madness. I was watching a taped L&O: LA episode that was really weird. The diagnosed schizophrenic did a mass shooting of a politician and her followers (similar to what happened in Arizona). Anyway, he was fixated on finding his non-existent daughter. It somehow tied to some stupid video game that the council woman's former software gaming company had developed. Somehow they twigged to an earlier relationship with a girlfriend who he was seeing around the time he had his first psychotic break. Turns out that he was resentful of that girlfriend having an abortion and had carried a grudge for 10-15 years and his plea of insanity was replaced with first degree murder.
There is something weird about that plot line. To me it suggests that killing someone over an abortion is illegal but yet rational. Kind of like putting it into the same category as a crime of passion.
From the comments in the 2nd link, he's had a looooong history of anti-abortion ranting in Wisconsin, at protests and online. He's not a stealth killer. He's worked himself up to the point of killing. Given the comments of how he had already hesitated because he couldn't bring himself to do what God wanted him to do and he reported the shooting to the desk and police, I'm thinking he sabotaged himself so he couldn't go through with it. Not consciously sabotaged himself, just putting out the neon 'somebody stop me' batshit signal.
JJ's all too correct that the religionists will distance themselves from someone they've exploited for years, shocked SHOCKED there is violence being done in Jesus' name, amen.
Counting on them to put down the golden goose of addled foot soldiers they can wash away in a silver salver of plausible deniability, is like looking for references about abortion being baaaad in the Bible.
Actually some sociopathic zealot in South-Dakota is or was attempting to pass a bill to make killing of abortion providers or those helping someone obtain an abortion, a justifiable homicide.
The bill stated, "Homicide is justifiable if committed by any person while resisting any attempt to murder such person, or to harm the unborn child of such person in a manner and to a degree likely to result in the death of the unborn child."
