Beware the scourge of unmarried women! (hint: they're not ladies)

Phyllis Schlafly: still shrieeeky and strident after all these years.
"Unmarried women, 70 percent of unmarried women, voted for Obama, and this is because when you kick your husband out, you've got to have big brother government to be your provider."

On Thursday, in an interview with Talking Points Memo, Schlafly repeated her link of single women, Obama and welfare, and added.

"Yes, I said that. It's true too. All welfare goes to unmarried moms. They are trying to line up their constituency for Obama and Democrats against Republican candidates."

And by the way, what exactly is that baked-solid entity stuck on Schlafly's head? I've cleaned up dog poop on the sidewalk that was more attractive than that.

Yep, a crabby old wingnut hag is really a great endorsement for the institution of marriage! Just look what it did for her!

"All welfare goes to unmarried moms."

I know a couple of FELLOWs that would find this interesting. They need welfare from various reasons .... maybe the best being that they are unemployed and their UIC benefits have expired.

I like to wonder why she even has a job... didn't she kill the ERA and make a career of telling other women not to have careers? Perhaps she ought to follow her own advice and, well, to put it bluntly, shut up.

Show some respect, the woman is 84. She is either suffering from dementia and should be paid some respect.,,

or just be shot.

Not to mention even in her worldview, she's left out widows, or women abandoned by their husbands in favour of new models, or those conservative models of martyrdom, rape victims who didn't terminate in abortion.

I'd say she's the epitome of those very nice ladies in the Handmaid's Tale that make sure the orders of their masters are carried out to maintain their masters' level of comfort...

...but this talking in tongues about 'unwed welfare mothers', is just more racist code being ratcheted up. The US isn't post-racial. Post-partum depressive maybe.
